Hurrying her step, Wright slid in the room after Harris without even giving the doors a chance to close between them. She didn’t know the reason as to why Calvin was walking into his Ready Room but she had more important things in mind. As the Intelligence Officer that she was, Molly might have walked in silently enough for Cal not to notice that he was no longer alone in the room.

“Medical might have found a potential solution for the women’s eating issues. One that doesn’t need to use members of our crew.”

There were no pleasantries. Just the point.

Capt. Wright, CIO

It was as if Molly had shot the man. With a sudden yelp, Harris leapt straight up about a foot off the deck and whirled around to face the Intel Chief as white faced as she’d ever seen him.

“Jesus Christ Molly!” He squeaked in an uncharacteristic high pitch. “How many frackin’ times do I have to tell you, stop with the Intel sneaky bullshit! I swear to god, you’re gonna give me a heart attack.”

Molly suppressed her will to roll her eyes. He had been Intelligence too once. He should know better.

Pausing to calm himself for a moment, Harris tugged his tunic straight, ran his fingers through his hair and with a soft sigh… returned to moving towards his desk.

“So…” The ship’s CO began in earnest. “… what kind of a solution are they proposing?” Harris asked, settling back into his chair.

Harris, CO

“A neural stimulator.” Wright began. She remained unfazed, as if nothing had happened before their conversation. “The women feed on male neural energy. According to the Doctor, the neural stimulator is able to replicate said energy so that they can feed on it. They didn’t seem to like it, but they understood it was the only way they would be allowed to survive…” Molly sighed. It would be clear to Cal she found the whole situation slightly annoying. “Any news I missed out on while I was on the Brig?”

Capt. Wright, CIO

“Yes…” Harris nodded as he motioned to the chair for Wright to join him. “… we have a Security ship inbound to meet with us, rendezvous in just a few minutes actually. I sent Princess down to meet them and bring them up here. Hopefully, they can take over this headache and we can be on our way.”

Harris, CO

Molly sighed and sat down in the chair Cal had indicated. Headache was the right word. Briefly, Wright propped her elbows on the table and laid her face on her open palms. She felt tired and somehow she felt like her self control was slowly slipping away. The only thing that would give away to Harris that she had something on her mind would be the fact that she didn’t comment on his use of Princess to refer to the ship’s XO.

Cal knew when Molly didn’t even give so much as a snort at the randomly selected royal euphemism for their blue-blooded Executive Officer, that something was up with his Intel Chief. He didn’t know if he had time to get into it before the visiting Captain arrived but he would speak to her after the meeting.

Looking back to Cal, she asked. “Should I call our Chief of Security?”

Capt. Wright, CIO

Harris paused for a moment and then with a sigh, nodded. “Yeah… get Ashur’s ass up here. I know he’s only been on the job a few hours but I want his input and more importantly, we need to get him up to speed on DH duties. Last thing we need is brass from some goddamn SecShip pokin’ around thinkin’ we ain’t got no damn Security Chief. Get on it and let him know I want him here ASAP.”

Harris, CO

Nodding in acknowledgement, Molly tapped her commbadge.

=/\= Wright to Ashur. Please report to the Captain’s Ready Room. =/\=

=^=On my way Captain.=^=

As she fell back into her seat waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, Wright’s mind was definitely mulling on something. For Cal, it would almost feel as if he could see the gears turning in her head.

Capt. Wright, CIO

“My apologies, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Amelia Manning, Executive Officer of the Dresden.” Amelia told Captain Worx as they walked towards the Bridge. A polite smile held on her lips and her expression was courteous.

“This way.” She indicated as they walked into the Bridge and crossed it to finally reach the Ready Room.

As the doors opened, she motioned for their guests to walk in before her and then she proceeded to her seat, by Harris’s right side.

Lt. Cmdr. Manning, XO

A few minutes later Hannibal pressed the chime on the captains ready room. So much for staying out of the spotlight, he thought as he waited.

bump

OOC: my posts got separated from the thread. Putting them in now. Also, sorry for not being able to post an emergency LOA.

IC:He arrived to see Captain Worx greeting the Dresden’s CO.

Harris stood and greeted the incoming officers with smiles, handshakes and traditional naval pleasantries. “Welcome aboard the Dresden, Mr. Worx. I appreciate your quick response to our… issue.” The Marine pursed his lips slightly as he settled in his chair. “As you can imagine, this has become quite a mess and I will be the first to say that… being outside the mission parameters of this vessel… I will be more than happy to be done with them and hand them over to your people. I have…”

“It’s a pleasure Colonel,” Captain Worx said. “I’ll come straight to the point. According to your report to Starfleet, the three prisoners you have need to be isolated and yet not deprived of their food. Starfleet Security has identified a large uninhabited island in Browder IV where there are enough animals that would be able to allow them to feed without harming anyone. The USS Waterloo has been outfitted with a secure deck with access to some of these animals from the planet. We hope that we would be able to take them off your hands.”
GM

Lt. T’Pax, the Vulcan, who was in a blue uniform, added, “The isolation is necessary for safety concerns but once we are able to ascertain their origins and physiology, we would be able to aid them without the need of isolation.”

Suddenly, the Dresden’s Commanding Officer was interrupted by a comm call. =/\= Vock to Captain. The crew from the freighter is awake. They have questions regarding their ship and crew. =/\=

With a soft sigh and an aside glance to Amelia, Harris tapped his comm badge. =A= This is the Captain. I am currently meeting with the team from Fleet Security and I will be down as soon as we wrap up. Try & make them comfortable and tell our guests to sit tight. I’ll be with them shortly. Harris out.=A=

With that, Harris looked back to Worx. “What do you and Fleet Security need from me and my people, Mr. Worx?”

Harris, CO

“Just your co-operation, Colonel, in transferring the three individuals to our special deck on our ship. Starfleet wants to discover where they are from and how they got separated.,” replied Captain Worx.

GM

OCC: Did Ashur get invited in, or is he still waiting outside?

-Christopher

OOC: I think you’re still waiting at the door.

Kenson

“Well…” Harris continued. “… Mr. Worx, our full co-operation you have. I want these damn people off my ship as soon as possible. What else do you need from me?” The Marine finished with a question before walking to the door.

Harris, CO

“If you have any extra information regarding their abilities, or experiences from your crew regarding what they have done, I believe Starfleet will find the data provided helpful,” replied Worx. He stood up as well, realising that they were expected to leave. With a look, his other officers also stood and moved towards the door.

“Thank you, Colonel,” said Worx. “We’ll liaise with you on the transporter coordinates on our ship so that you could initiate transport.”

GM

As Harris reached the door, a slight smile crossed his face. “The sooner the better Mr. Worx.” The Marine offered his hand. “You just comm it over. Thanks again for the quick response. Please pass along my appreciation to your crew.”

Standing tall as the door opened, Harris motioned for the other ship’s Captain to lead the way out onto the Bridge.
