Where did I put that? - Shuttle Bay (Tag Reed)

Bethany was unpacking her things in her new quarters on deck 5. She had almost finished when she realized that a particular PaDD was missing. She went through everything not finding it. Tapping a finger on her lower lip in thought she stood looking around her quarters. “Well I couldn’t have most it in here, yet. Where did I put that? I know I had it on the shuttle.” She signed and left to head back down to shuttle bay 2. It had to still be inside her shuttle.

She took the turbolift down to deck 30 and shuttle bay 2. She walked in and looked around. She approached the first person she could find to ask where her shuttle had been berthed.

The shuttle deck was finally settling down after stowing the ‘hot’ shuttle. The first green shirt the Counselor saw was Petty officer Iverson. Looking up from the PADD he was making notes on he sighed. “The LT had that hot mess moved to cargo bay five, after three of our favorite numskulls bought tickets to sickbay, M’am.”

PO Iverson, flight electrician

“Well I will head to cargo bay 5 then, Thank you Petty Officer.” Bethany successfuly hides her smile until she’s out in the corridor. Someone must have tried to outsmart the security system, for it to be that bad. She’d have to turn that off, the CO might think it was funny, but never say, but she was sure the XO would have her hide for it. Oh well. She’d warned the crew who took over her. Guess they didn’t listen. She took the turbolift up to deck 26. She moved down the corridor and walked into the cargo bay. Oh dear, they really had moved it to a cargo bay. She shook her head and moved over to the shuttle, placing her hand on the access panel the shuttle’s bay door hissed and opened. She stepped in and moved to the pain control panel. Placing her hand on it, “Computer recognize Lt. Gadi, Alpha romeo zeta. Deactivate security system.” SYSTEM DEACTIVATED. She shook her head. She’d have to check and see what the crewman had done to make the system go off like that.

“Lucky I hadn’t activated the force field Leuitenant” Stores stood there with out his uniform tunic and a role of black and yellow floor cation tape. The heavy EVA style gloves and mag boots were also a departure from his earlier uniform. “Wouldn’t want you to get bit.” Tho the tone of annoyance was clear, neither his posture or smile indicated it was directed at her.

Bethany chuckled. Well it wasn’t directed at her, but it probably should be. “Sorry Lt. I’ll have to run a diagnostic to see what happened, and then it will take a bit to fully deactivate her. I warned the crew chief.” She shook her head and started running the diagnositc to see what had happened. While it ran she looked around for the PaDD she was missing. “You won’t need the force field after I’m done. Unless you think the Cap’ would like you to lock me in here.” She laughs amused at the idea. She finds the PaDD under the co-pilot’s chair and raises a brow at that. She sets it by the door and looks over at the Lt again. “Anything I can help with, while the computer finishes it’s work?”
Lt. Gadi, CNS

“Well I think I’m going to erect it anyway, just to keep the lookie lues away. The deck apes made a game of it and got themselves hurt.” The diagnostic showed a pattern of longer and longer contacts until finally multiple and prolonged final contact. The pattern looked like three people were playing chicken. “ If you don’t mind helping me lay down the cation tape I would appreciate it.”

As Stores spoke the force field pillions, his uniform top and an insulated carafe was clearly visible on one of the grave pallets. It was also clear that the Shuttle was expertly chocked and anchored to the deck.

The computer beeped and Bethany looked over at the results. “Good lords. That’s what warnings are for. What are they, cadets still in the academy?” She watched the feed and winced as the first one went down and then she shook her head. “They deserved it.” She steps out and takes the caution tape from him and begins to pull off a starter strip and lays it to the ground. “The program was installed by a friend, as a joke. I tried to remove it in flight, but it was more work than could be done while she was in flight.” She felt bad for the Lt. People had to act like children and he had to deal with. She noticed the care he had taken with the shuttle and she was grateful. “Thank you for taking care of her. She’s not much, but she’s mine.”
Lt. Gadi, CNS

“Anything worth doing m’am, recently bought a ship of my own so I understand.” Deftly huaning his end of the tape it wasn’t a minuets work. “Care to help with the emitters?” They were bog standard hazard barriers designed to keep people from wondering into hazardous work spaces. Beside the carafe was an old style watch cup with dregs of coffee in it.
