Stepping out onto the command deck, Stores makes his way way to the XO’s office. Felling completely out of place here he put on his happy face and tried to hide his discomfort.
Up side is that the X was pleasant company, down he wold see threw him in a flash.Straitening his overall he reached for the door chime.
OOC: Sorry this took me a minute to get to! Settling into a new job and it’s more time consuming than I anticipated!
The door slid open to reveal an executive officer’s office that looked a LOT like a counselor’s office. Lieutenant Commander Renveer sat with one leg crossed over the other reading a PaDD in his high-backed chair, which was situated across from a loveseat and another individual seating option, with a rug bridging the gap between all three pieces of furniture. The typical executive officer’s desk was pushed up against the far wall, ready for use but obviously not the focal point of the room. The paintings and cultural trinkets that had adorned Renveer’s old office had followed him here, and gave the room a homey feel.
Renveer looked up as the door opened and grinned with a slightly raised eyebrow. “Ensign Stores,” he said as he extended a hand to the seating options across from him to invite the other man to sit, “I see you’ve finally made it up all the way here. I’ve heard of your trek through the ship’s departments. How have the other officers been treating you?”
(Lt. Cmdr. Renveer, XO)
OOC, yea life. Hope you are content. A challenging but satisfying job is a blessing.
“like the lovable but wayward little brother.” The middle aged human winked as he took the other chair. “ I see the deck apes got your office shifted around.”
Settling into the chair with a sigh, “ So the same question X, have we forgotten anything, or do you have any special requests that I can get” Stores checked the chrono in the corner of his HUD. “ Thirty hours.”

Renveer chuckled. “I appreciate your thoroughness, Mister Stores. It’s a trait that will serve you well as we embark on our mission, I’m sure.” He folded his hands on his desk. “But, to answer your question, I think I have everything I need. Unless....” he paused, then looked at Stores out of the side of his eyes. “High-quality wine can be quite an impressive diplomatic tool, should their be a need for negotiations or other such more delicate conversations. Perhaps acquiring some that is freshly made, rather than replicated, could be a beneficial supply to have in the cargo hold. Just in case.” The executive officer’s tone was a bit light-hearted, maybe making it a little difficult to know if he was being serious about the reasoning, although the request was obviously real.
(Lt. Cmdr. Renveer, XO)
The smile that spread across his face left no doubt that other, perhaps less “Diplomatic” libations had already been laid down in the ships holds. “I would be glad to make that happen sir, any suggestions as to vintage would be appreciated” Stores didn’t have many wines in his ‘Recipe book’ either, so it would end up being standard replicator fair otherwise. How much wine can one trill drink between refits Stores thought to himself, he had stashed an entire pallet of bourbon tagged for one officer so he would be happy to contribute to ships moral with the addition of wine.Clinton”Stores”Reed,Supercargo
Renveer nodded in thanks. “I’ll forward you a list of common finer beverages used during negotiations by many of the known factions in the quadrant.” He was being serious, apparently. But that’s not to say that the executive officer wouldn’t skim some off the top from time to time.
Renveer regarded Stores quizzically. “You seem to be taking to your new role in operations rather well. I know you liked Lieutenant Hammor, it’s a pity that he was only assigned temporarily to assist with a speedy restocking. Do you think the department will manage fine without him?”
