Having a free afternoon was a rarity, Neribi was also happy that she was able to book some holodeck time to coincide with the block of free time. She’d been meaning to revisit an old program of hers, something her aunt Rhynia introduced her to.Bouncing on her heels, the Ensign excitedly waited for the computer to announce her program was ready. When those words were announced, she stepped into the holodeck and immediately felt the warm air of the simulated Akkathan Desert wind blowing through her hair and her loose fitting clothing. On Maeryn Prime, the main continent was a massive landmass, with a desert twice the size of Earth’s Sahara known as the Akkatha Desert. Smack dab in the middle of it was the city of Akkatha, ingeniously named for the desert or maybe the other way around, the history before the Raetani Occupation was spotty at best. Her aunt and father had spent much of their childhood in this city.
Rhynia had introduced her to this program when she’d expressed interest in testing her limits. Akkatha was unforgiving in many respects, but she found the challenge worthwhile to push her body a little to adapt to the hotter and drier environment. She liked to try and teach her body to adapt to the situation as needed and to test out the limits of her hybrid physiology. She was one of the oldest Maerynian hybrids, it was sometimes hard to predict where in the scale between a full Maerynian and a full Human she would fall in terms of physicalalities and her mental abilities.
Taking a deep breath, Neribi did a quick seven minute stretch to warm up, before setting off for the training grounds that were off in the distance at a gentle jog.

OOC; Do ya mind if I have Xanrae pop in?
TrinityOOC> I don’t mind at all, a little interaction is always fun. >)
Kat
OOC> Okay!
IC> Xanrae did not work out.
It was not uncommonly known, that Bolians did not have a particularly grand build for any type of physical activity. Their stamina was low, their metabolisms hardly sufficient, and not to mention their respiratory systems in general. Simply a mess that Mora had no intentions of hanging herself, by the ropes, with. Thus, the only reason she had come to the holodeck, was for the purpose of observation.
Stepping onto the deck, she quickly noticed the officer that was about to embark on a jog, to a place that Mora could not entirely divulge. Curiously, as per the reason of her presence there, the blue toned woman followed after the opposing. While she did not run, she did walk fast enough to manage to keep the other in sight. After all, her only intentions were to figure out where she was going, and what it was for. Whether or not she would be noticed along the way, didn’t pose much an issue to her.
Walking along the ground, her peculiar gaze bouncing from place to place, as if scrutinizing the world around her, Xanrae found herself following after the woman. She didn’t do such in a fashion that made it seem like she was stalking. Nor did she try to hide her place on the holodeck. Instead, she was awkwardly casual.

OOC> Bump, to keep on boards. <3

A run in the desert was always something far different than Neribi had ever experienced prior to learning more about her Maerynian roots. There weren’t many deserts near Berlin, Germany where she grew up on Earth. It always boggled her mind a little bit on how this city seemed to almost thrive in the heat and arid climate. She supposed during the Occupation, with the Raetani not being able to handle their heat all that well, it made sense to flee to a place that was just that much more inhospitable to your enemy than yourself.
It was once she got to the training grounds, she had that unmistakable feeling she wasn’t alone. Turning, she immediately spied the Bolian, it wasn’t hard as the blue skin was quite a contrast to the rich red and orange hues that were typical of the architecture of Akkatha.
“Hello,” Neribi greeted, she wasn’t out of breath yet, but her skin was beginning to have a lovely sheen of sweat from the jog.

Nora seemed to studied the woman, with great curiosity. It was difficult to determine, if not able to read her mind, whether or not this inquiry was of the medical sense or otherwise. She knew it was merely friendly, and simply a matter of observation. Despite having treated humanoids, she always enjoyed achieving new knowledge on their physical capabilities and how they handle physical exertion, or any type.
Catching the eye of the opposing officer, she offered a sheepish smile. Regardless of the fact that their eavesdropping had not been intended to be a secret, the blush of discovery came across her cheeks. Naturally, as she had just been caught in the action of watching another person. Well, she preferred the term ‘observing.’
“Hi..” The Bolian shyly responded, naturally a quiet soul. “Er.. a nice day for a run, yes?” She asked, trying to make this seem less awkward for her side of this.
Mora
“I tend to prefer cooler days, but I like to push myself a little bit,” Neribi replied with a shrug, “Security officers need to be able to work in a variety of situations, I like to make sure I’m ready for it.”
~Asani Neribi~
“Ah, yes.. that makes sense.” Mora nodded, slowly. “Do you run often?” She asked, trying to find ways to Beveres good of any awkward silence. Which happened to be a thing she was incredibly skilled at insinuating.
Mora
“Fairly frequently, I like to keep myself in shape and rather enjoy running,” Neribi explained, “It’s a great warm up activity.”
~Asani Neribi~
“That makes sense. Especially on a Starship, where there really aren’t too many options to get rid of any excess energy, or simply to work off any weight that might not be desired.” Mora nodded, despite being a person who found no pleasure in exercise, aside from yoga. That was merely due to her physical inhibitions and simply the fact that she wasn’t built for it. No wonder Medical was the chosen field. “Do you have any other preferred exercises? That is, beyond running?”
Mora
“I call it a pattern dance,” Neribi replied, walking over to the weapons rack and pulling out a simple practice pole, “My aunt taught me, she grew up on Maeryn Prime, before the occupation, so she remembers the Empire that existed prior, she was taught to fight with all kinds of physical weapons, pattern dances is essentially practicing with a pole weapon and going through movements. It promotes balance, which I think is important.”
~Asani Neribi
Her eyes lit up at the thought of such a dance, as it fascinated the young Doctor, to no extent. Curiously, she tilted her head minutely to one side. She hesitated, debating whether or not she wanted to ask this following question. It hung in her throat for several moments, before she decided to take a chance and actually inquire it. “Is there any way you could show me this pattern dance?” She asked, raising her nearly hairless eyebrows.
Xanrae
“Sure,” Neribi shrugged, “You’ll want to stand here, sort of out of the way, the pole isn’t live, but I make fast enough movements that it would bruise you if it mistakenly made contact with you.”
Once the good doctor was settled, Neribi began simply standing with the pole vertical in front of her in both hands stacked on top of each other, her head bowed. Taking a few breaths, using her lower hand, she began to spin the pole, stopping it in a strike posture, spinning it again, she twirled her body physically, making a series of controlled stops as she moved about the compound in varied strikes and blocks.
~Asani Neribi~
Mora stood to the side, her articulate gaze studying the movement that she made. She came up with a few theories, of why the dance was particularly helpful towards the body of a humanoid, such as herself. It seemed the quick movements could strength breathing patterns, and the lungs. Her detailed actions would add to the strength in her wrists and ankles, and depending on how much she moved, it would add to her arms and legs, as well. The twirling could be a way to help with the abdomen, all in all, it was apparently a rather helpful workout.
Xanrae
“Do you do much exercise like this?” Neribi asked, by way of making conversation while she worked, “Is there something in particular you’re looking for, as a security officer, keeping a strong and agile body is one of my top priorities, I can recommend some exercises if that’s what you’re after?”
~Asani Neribi~
Mora quietly chuckled, “No, that is quite alright. My physiology makes it quite difficult to ever bother with exercise beyond yoga and a few types of aerobics.” She smiled, a gentleness to her appearance. It was clear that she was a doctor, for her demeanour wasn’t far too calm and collected to be, really, anything else. “That does make sense, though. However, I should hope you know the limit of your own body?”
Xanrae
Doc
“Yes, when first beginning these exercises, I was taught to start slow and avoid pushing my body to the point where I’d sustain injury,” Neribi replied, continuing to work, watching her movements herself, “It’s a process, building upon earlier work to gather strength and agility. I think it’s highly important to understand the limits of your body, particularly given my profession in the security field, I need to be ready to control a crowd or run to a serious situation. Pattern dances help you test your limits gradually, building upon the previous exercises. It was also why I jogged up here, rather than just appear up here in the program, a slow easy jog loosens up the muscles and signals the body that it’s time to work.”
