Hanger bays and hand grenades

An alarm sounded and Lardel said ” Launch in two minutes. We gotta move. Let’s take this back to my office.” and without any look to see if the XO and CSO were following, he walked away towards the exit off the flight area.

Lardel, CAG

“Sounds reasonable…” she smiled. For the most part she added to herself.

To her credit, the klaxon didn’t make her jump. She nodded to the CAG and followed him out of the hangar area.

Braxton followed behind.

Harris, XO

Arriving at the CAG’s office, Rebecca moved in and stepped left to give the XO room to follow and come in. She glanced around to see how the room was, with the idea that she knew he hadn’t had time to settle in. Though as she watched the man move into the space he dominated by both position and aura, she straightened up a touch more, and clasped her hands in front of her.

The room was bare save for a desk and two chairs. But a few cargo crates were neatly stacked in on corner. A window looked out over the flight deck.

“Please be seated.” he said to both people and gestured the XO to a chair.

Lardel, CAG

“Nice view,” Rebecca stated as she glanced back before taking her seat. After the XO had seated, she looked to the CAG. “I’m pretty sure your first question will be what the hell was I doing in your hanger? May I please speak freely and tell you why I was here, Sir?” She was polite, almost to a fault. But with both the CAG and XO here, this was not the time for someone to get uppity and belligerent. Especially having been on the ship only a few days.

“Lieutenant Morrison let’s give the Major to speak first. He did give us the courtesy of being in his office. Then you can speak.” Braxton spoke in a serious tone.

Lt. Cmdr Harris, XO

“Sorry, Sir… yes, Sir…” she nodded to the XO and then in apology to the CAG.

Lardel nodded in thanks to the XO and said “Lieutenant, you could have been there to tell me I had won the Risian lottery and I would have reacted the same way. You do not just walk onto an active flight operations deck. And the fact that you did will be discussed with my team, you can count on that.” and he leaned back in his chair.

“Now… had you asked prior, I would have considered it if you had a compelling reason and were under escort. Now? Now you have demonstrated a lack of forethought that I simply cannot have on the line. It’s simply too dangerous. So whatever it was you were doing, it ends here. Am I clear, Lieutenant?”

Lardel, CAG

“Yes, Sir,” she answered as politely as she had been the entire time. “May I make a request to formally ask for permission in the future and discuss my reasoning and your limitations? I’m willing to wait a few weeks as I understand, now, what I did was something you didn’t approve of. And I give you my word it won’t happen again without your express permission.”

There was a chime at the CAG’s office door, with Lt. Hugo waiting patiently on the other side, hands clasped behind his back.

As the door opened, Hugo took a half step in, scanning the room and respectfully nodding at each person, then faced the Major. “Major Lardell, please pardon my interruption. I don’t think we’ve met, I am Lieutenant Jean Hugo, the ship’s new Chief of Security. My officers alerted me to an event on the flight deck and I thought it best to touch base personally. Would you mind if I sat in on this meeting so my office is aware of any security concerns? It would be greatly appreciated.”

J. Hugo, COS/CNS

OOC: Hope you don’t mind if I join, thanks!

OOC: Welcome!

IC: Lardel looked at the man for a moment and then just gestured to a spot in front of the desk as the chairs were taken. “Well, Lieutenant… in a nut shell the ship’s Chief Science Officer took it upon herself to wander into an active flight deck and scan my fighters… neither action of which she had permission to do. So as the new Security Chief, I will let you know in advance. A Marine Security detail will be assigned to the access points for the flight deck going forward to make sure these little incidents don’t happen again.” The Zakdorn Marine looked at the three people in his office and said “That work for all parties?”

Lardel, CAG
