=^=Acknowledged.=^= Came the simple response from computer station. The doors slide open exposing the three story cylinder that was the computer system. There was an available data panel, but the system was voice activated as well.

=^= Jen to Lt Sutret. One peculiarity with the force fields is that we have no sensor information from the ‘other’ side until we actually get there and scan it. While you’re in the computer core can you search out any reason for that? Or, as your trade is engineer, can you fathom why this is so? =^=

Koria looked around the room as she walked into the control room. She flipped out her tricorder as she looked around, it looked like everything was intact still. The inertial dampeners around the computer core were stronger, designed to give it some more protection during a rough flight, or even a fire fight.

=^= Sutret here Commander. I’ve gained access to the computer core. It seems like voice commands are still being accepted.

=^= My best guess is that the force fields are scattering the scans. Typically the scanners are tuned to not be effected by the forcefields, or to ignore them. Something probably mixed up the frequencies that the scanners are operating on. Is our optical sensors also effected by the forcefields? =^=

Koria moved around the data panel and over to the access ladder that ran the whole length of the computer core. With all of the security around the core, it was often easier to climb the ladder instead of leaving, and taking a turbolift to another deck. Like the jefferies tubes, each deck was sealed by an access hatch at the ladder.

“Computer release and open all internal core ascent access hatches.” Hopefully the voice commands would still work.

=^=Computer core hatches opening.=^= The cross sectional hatches and force fields along the length of the computer core opened some with a reassuring clang, the force fields with a slight whine. The two sets of protections lowing the two teams separated by a dozen decks to see and hear each other.

=^= Optical sensors. Anything that was remotely close to the skin of this beast we have no eyes on, be them electronic or optical sensors. If they are operational we need to get closer. I’m hopeful that we will get some kind of scans in from the hanger bay vessels that do have operating equipment. =^= Okay, so not normal with scans beyond the force fields. =^= Could it also be the computer who is intentionally limiting our ability to see in order to slow us down? I know this opens up a new tin of slush grubs and whether the computer is compromised in some way. That is another thing for you to look into there. =^=

Koria thought about it for a minute. =^= It is definitely possible, but you are right, something would have had to compromise our computer. The computer doesn’t just decide block our scans on its own. =^=

“This is Captain Hawkins of A Company. Call out if you can hear me!”

Koria moved closer to the hatches she had opened.

“Captain, this is Lieutenant Sutret. Do you have access to the control console down there?”

Koria let a little sigh of relief. She didn’t want to say it, but she felt better that she wasn’t going to have to walk a Marine through how to do anything. “Okay,” she called down the hatchway. “See what you can do to release the additional security lockouts that the ship put in, blocking the access throughout the ship. And if there is any way to get the comm systems back online. I’m going to work on the sensors.”

Straightening up, Koria moved over to the control console and brought up the controls. “Computer, are there any issues with the external sensors?”

“Unable to access the sensor relays from this site, thus damage to external sensors are unknown.” the computer paused as if tying to figure out why. “Damage is consistent with a significant ship to ship collision.”

Koria tapped her fingers on the console. It was going to be a lot of work to get all of the external sensors back and running. Just how bad was the ship.

“Computer, what is the current status of the Chimera?”

=^=The ship is at yellow alert… internal sensors no longer can detect points outside a perimeter averaging 14.7 meters from this location. Within this area there is a minor structural shifting of key points 2.8 micron average, 12 minor injuries, and a 14.2 percent increase pressure on bulkheads within 15 meters of this location, this information correlated to other data inputs, suggest significant pressures to the hull at multiple points, 81% likely to be attributed to a massive ship to ship collision. =^=

Koria looked at the data coming back, what had they hit. If it had really been a massive ship to ship collision, there should be more localized damage towards the point of initial impact.

“Computer, bring up external sensor data from immediately prior to impact.” Maybe she could figure out what they had hit. It would be something at least.

The computer put the sensor logs on the monitor… all seemed clear until .52 seconds prior to the ship coming to a radial stop. A effect that seemed to be a shimmering oblong shape over 100 meters long and 50 meters high appeared to be on a collision course with the Chimera. A moment before impact the shields on the Chimera went to maximum and the oblong energy bubble contacted the Chimera shields and warp field. Then the ship came to a sudden stop.

=^= Sutret to XO. Have you had any success figuring out what caused the Chimera to come to a stop? I was finally able to pull up the external records from right before our sudden deceleration. =^=

There was a short pause before replying. =^= Do not hold me in suspense Lt. I was able from CIC to see the sensor logs up to the point where we came to an abrupt stop, though what I saw here held no detail. Simply that we were traveling and then we came to the stop as though there was something in our path. The hope was that the computer core would hold a more complete picture. =^=

OOC: Hope it’s okay for me to butt in here, just wanted to get Mirai involved in the main sim!

IC: From somewhere off to her left, Sutret would hear a seemingly disembodied voice comment, “I would suggest not keeping the man waiting, Lieutenant. His patience appears to be rather thin.”
A fraction of a second later and the speaker came into view. Tall, muscular and physically intimidating, the half-Klingon’s warrior-like aspect was tempered slightly by more feminine facial features and silken, black hair. Her uniform, freshly replicated merely an hour ago, already suggested she had gone ten rounds with a Gorn and while she presented herself with an air of decided importance, the insignia at her throat revealed her as a mere ensign.

“Lt Sutret, I presume,” she declared, one powerful hand being thrust towards her superior in greeting, “I presented myself at your office but see that you are otherwise occupied here. Perhaps I can be of assistance?” Then almost as an afterthought, she added, “Mirai Nakuto, engineering ensign at your service, Ma’am.”
