15 minutes after he left the shower, the smell of coffee drifted through the room as Dawkins settled on the edge… what he thought was the edge… of the bed and kissed Ellie’s cheek. “Babe… you gotta get up. I rep’ed some coffee.” He said softly as he patted her shoulder.

It was the smell of coffee that woke Eleanor, followed by the sweet tones of Malcolm’s voice, and the tenderness of his kiss.

“Mmm?” Came Eleanor’s quizzical sleepy tone, and she opened a sleepy eye to look at the dashing pilot sitting on the edge of her bed. A happy smile settled on her lips.

“For how long have you been up?” She asked, as she sat up on the bed. “You look nice.” Eleanor commented before planting a kiss on his cheek. “And you smell good.” Wrapping her arms around Malcolm’s neck for a moment in a loving embrace, Carnegie’s hand searched the bedside table for her glasses. “So, where’s that coffee you were talking about?” She rubbed her eyes before placing the old Earth specs over her nose. She seemed more awake now. “Silver lining of not having been promoted. If I get to the Flight deck half an hour late, Chuck will be the only one complaining.” Eleanor said with a wink, referring to her crew chief. Taking his hand, she walked to the living space on her quarters.

Malcolm laughed and gave Ellie another peck on the cheek. “Sadly… I on the other hand did, and I have to be in the office soon.” With a wink, Dawkins motioned to a set of freshly replicated flightsuit on the nightstand. “I pulled your profile… so that should fit nicely. Figured you’d like a fresh one after last night. Shower’s free by the way.” Malcolm said with a smirk.
