=^= Jen to Ranger. I’ve contacted marine Colonel Georgio to begin rotating rest periods for the marines. Gamma shift would be coming on normally though Alpha shift by now is exhausted given that it was almost 22:00 when this event began. I would defer the implementation of this to the CMO as she has the latest stats on injuries and how this is best done. Do you concur? =^=

Eleanor sighed softly. At the mention of the word ‘rest’ she realized how tired she actually was, but with the adrenaline currently pumping her body, there was no way she was going anywhere. Not to mention… no one was piloting her ship, and she really wanted to be the one to take the party outside.

Finally noticing that both Commanding Officer and Chief of Security were still standing in the middle of her cockpit, Carnegie shot the Fleeters a tired smile. “I’m sorry… where are my manners. Please, feel free to take your favorite station. That one is Sensor Ops…” Eleanor motioned to the one on the right side. “… and that one is Engineering.” She said motioning to the one on the left. “In case we do take off and you don’t feel comfortable manning one of them, I can move them to my panel.” The Marine paused to catch her breath before saying proudly. “I am used to fly the Lady all by myself, so it’s nothing I haven’t done before. Just be aware… There’s a pair of glasses somewhere under one of the consoles. I dropped them earlier. They look like one of those old twentieth century Earth ones… Let me know if you happen to find them. My brother will kill me if I ask him for another pair and I would much rather not have to live through that experience.”

Katelyn listened to Carnegie as she slid into the engineering station. It wasn’t her strong suit, but she’d flown this type of craft before and she was familiar with at least the basics required to operate it. The Chief of Security’s disappearing form left the two women alone as she pondered the display in front of her. “I wonder if there’s a way we can beam the shuttle out.” She paused to contemplate it a bit more, her fingers moving over the console to look at the various power requirements and capabilities in the craft. “High warp and all that’s an issue, but we could divert all power to the safety systems to protect us… what do you think?” She glanced at Carnegie.

High warp transports were rare and highly difficult, usually when two ships are going at the same ‘relative’ speed. The fact that the ship wasn’t moving made transport through a warp bubble feasible, but through the ship shield still was impossible.

He turned back to the captain’s transmission. =^= Captain, I have confirmation that the chief engineer has made it through to the computer core, as well as a second group from another deck. My voice authorization gained them entry via the comms. =^=

Katelyn resisted the urge to let out a hoot of relief, but the excitement was still clearly visible on her face.

=/\= Fantastic, Commander. Hopefully she can figure out what’s going on with the ship. Keep me informed. We’re troubleshooting how to get this craft out of the launch bay with the warp bubble. I’ll let you know when we come up with something solid, but it would be a good start to get the shields dropped. I have a plan if we can do that. =/\=

=^= Captain, the ships’ sensors operate well even with the shields up. Normally at any rate. If you can crack the doors can the Ranger not scan through without endangering your shuttle? =^= There was some concern in his voice. =^= I’ll update you as I find out more =^=

The recon bird was capable of scanning through the shields… the initial scan was that there was ‘normal’ space outside the shield and the warp bubble. The shield was consistent with a normal projection… the warp field was at an unusual ‘frequency’ that appeared to be almost if there was two frequency waves merging at the same time thus doubling the normal amplitude. .
