Eventually, she might feel like she wasn’t playing from her back foot, but it seemed like it was going to be a while before that sensation went away. Her attention shifted quickly to Riloc as he added in his feedback and she sighed in both agreement and resignation. “I don’t think we have any choice, Lieutenant. I’d normally want to keep a transporter lock on them, but I assume transporters aren’t working either. See if you can do it anyway.”

Katelyn immediately turned to the officers surrounding her and raised an eyebrow. This was a primary concern when she had heard of the plan.

It had taken a little while but the information from the scan of the tri-corder had finally uploaded. Riloc with his minimal understanding of engineering or science; looked at the data and it made little sense.

It showed that the corridor leading from security to the turbo lift was intact, small pin pricks in the walls which suggested that the ship had stopped suddenly but was not consistent with hitting anything on a micro level, apparently.”

“Commander, I have transferred the data from my tri-corder. I have no idea what I am looking at, sir.” He said frankly.

Having made her comm calls, Katelyn’s attention shifted back to the COS. She gave him a sheepish grin as he requested Jen’s assistance. “I’d love to jump in, but I’m in the same boat you are,” she commented. “I can explain how smaller craft work, but a ship of this size is not my area of expertise.”

=^=Captain, the warp engine is in overdrive. Ensign Engines states that it appears we’re going at approximately Warp 8. We were not able to determine if we were moving. Can you update us on this?=^=

Riloc shifted in his chair. You didn’t need to be an engineer to know that having a warp core run at those speeds for a prolonged period of time was bad news.

Given where they were secured in the ship, Katelyn wasn’t exactly sure how they planned to confirm whether the ship was moving or not.

Whether or not they were moving didn’t seem to be relevant. The engines were not going to be happy running at that speed or thinking they were and moving while they were trying to figure out what’s going on wasn’t going to help either.

The ensign went to the drive and looked at the panel for a moment. Then headed to the comm system that the marines’ were carrying. =^=Begging your pardon sir, the wattage is warp eight on the power scale not necessarily were are moving at warp eight, it’s all being used somewhere… I’m not sure where and I’m not sure its safe just to turn it off. =^=
