Reporting for duty required two check ins to clear an officer. One was medical, that was a given. The other… Ryley sighed and tapped his cane firmly against the floor. Now clean and wearing new Jeans and a blazer jacket over a blue shirt he had even had time to trim his beard and his hair from the unruly mess he was in when the captain picked him up,He sighed and scratched his beard. He hated the CNS appointments, which tended to either become overly touchy feely and tried to put him in touch with his emotions, tried to cure him of some sort of psychiatric condition or were outright hostile. There ever was an in between.
Half wondering what Jacobs would say if he had to return to her, cap in hand, and say nope sorry Kiddo. No duty for me, just drop me off on Risa on your way past there’s a good Skipper. Ryley clenched his fist and rubbed the thumb and forefinger of the fist across his furrowed brow. He lifted the cane and jabbed the chime of the door with the bottom of it and waited.

MDGranger was sitting in the chair waiting for the counsellor to return when the door chime went off. He barked a terse “ENTER” figuring it was better that whoever had come to see that wasn’t standing around in the corridor like a jack ass waiting for the man to return. What he didn’t expect when the doors opened was that it would be Ryley standing outside. Ohh great....just what I need today. Another cake eater who thinks he’s the font of all humour and wisdom
– CSGTMJR Granger, Marine
Ryley did so at the barked command and did a double take as he watched the Marine sitting where he expected the CNS to be. He frowned, no that wasn’t right…he had been drunk when he met the man sure and half delirious from pain and whatever but unless he was really losing his touch this didn’t add up.
As the door closed Ryley relaxed his brow and instead fixed Granger with a perplexed look. “You know, it could have been the stations poor lighting but back on Tortuga you looked more like sergeant buzzkill than counsellor.”
He turned his cane In his hand. “ what happened? You get lost on your way to your barracks or did you need to come talk about some random you choked on your last mission that means you can’t sleep at night now? If it’s the later I can come back another time. Like July.”
