As swiftly as they could the two Caitian’s began to climb their way up toward Deck 15, well aware they would need to detour and find ways around the forcefields and such. M’Ressa was not moving quite as quickly as Sheriye due to her injured ribs but the binding that the XO had put on them helped her enough so that she could keep going. Neither woman spoke as they saved both their energy and breath for the climb.Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSOIt was none too easy to maneuver through the ship around the forcefield and transverse bulkheads. Unfortunately, before they could reach their destination there was a transverse bulkhead that there wasn’t a route around to avoid, up, down and back were all blocked. They would need to find a way through.
GM
OOC: Forgot to cross post .. ugh …
OOC: I don’t think we have comms yet....but I’ll let the GM chime in on this:)
IC:He moved over to the comms. =^= Jen to Admiral M’Ressa and Lt Sheriye. Comms check. Over. =^=
JenOOC: Cross ship comms did not work… so depending on how far the two Caitians had progressed would determine if they were still in communications. You can make a contact for now, but as they move you will lose them without warning.
As they reached the impassable bulkhead M’Ressa paused to rest as she studied the situation, looking around to see where they were and what their options might be. Her ribs throbbed badly even through the painkiller she had received.
OOC: GM, where are they and what do they see?
Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSOThey are on a standard deck. As they moved they passed numerous crewmembers who like them were injured and confused and trying to get to their respective duty stations. The damage was significant but mostly also appeared stress related to a quick stop as opposed to anything else. In terms of the hatch, what was stated earlier stands. There was no way around the barriers at this point. They would have to deactivate the force fields or blow the cross-sectional hatches.
GM
M’Ressa frowned and then looked at Sheriye who was tapping in a frustrated way at her science tricorder.”Therre iss no way arround this, we arre sstuck herre!” She growled increasing frustration.
“Can we deactivate the forcefield?” M’Ressa asked as she looked around for a control panel in the corridor.
Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSODeactivating the automatic force field was not a basic function. The Chief Science officer of a talented engineer if so trained (that’s up to you) could set up an over-ride program or manually rewire the system to shut down the force field but there were dangers attached to such an operation. Most of which was hypothetical, if indeed there was a hull breach or another issue that necessitated the force field removing it would be dangerous and likely so instantaneous they would not be able to reverse it to preempt the danger.
GM
Sheriye frowned as she attempted to scan the section behind the bulkhead to see the conditions beyond it. Was there a hull breach? How could they tell? The ship computers could be giving out questionable information but would tricorders given that she was careful to not create an upload between hers and the computer as a precaution since she had turned it on?
Sheriye CSO
Her hand tricorder had a hard time penetrating the force field as it had a secondary effect of reflecting the sensing beams as well. Despite this the tricorder reported atmosphere and gravity on the other side of the force field. The computer connected to the ship continue to report a hull breach. Which device to believe???
GM
If this gets through … =^= Jen to Marine units. Ship logs suggest we either hit something or came very close causing the ship to come to a .. rapid stop. It is showing widespread hull breaches and related force fields in corridors and cross-sectional bulkheads. I believe them to be false. Care should be taken in any forward hull facing section, however. Proceed with a focus of restoring passages to Engineering and the Flight Bays. Report tricorder findings in all corridors as you go through your communications node points to push the data of ship status and corridors to CIC. They will be compiled and returned back so you all have a composite of the ship until systems can be restored. Jen out. =^=
- JenSheriye looked at M’Ressa,”The trricorrderr is ssaying that therre is atmosspherre and grravity on the otherr sside and given that it iss not hooked up to the sship’ss computerrs I am inclined to think it iss the morre accurrate device rright now.”
M’Ressa nodded once,”I am inclined to agree. Override the bulkhead.” There was a still a chance they were both wrong…and if they were they were going to find a very fast and very uncomfortable end. But something had to be tried. The Goddess didn’t reward the cowardly.
Sheriye turned back to her tricorder and keyed in the commands to try and override the commands on the bulkhead to open it.
Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSOIt wasn’t quite that simple as the computer didn’t even want to release the door. They had to manually detach the locking system from the power and then crank the door open by hand. There was no hiss of the atmosphere escaping when the door started cranking open so there was no reason to stop until it was fully open. Moments after the ‘joy’ of opening the hatch occurred there was a disappointed sounding groan from the ship. It was as if the stressors on the ship had jumped. Or it could have been a cumulative effect of the dropping of the structural integrity fields or the cross hatches or something else entirely.
GM
Sheriye sighed and put her panting tongue back in her mouth. That had been a bit exhausting and she wasn’t use to so much manual labor but there was no way she had been going to let her grandam crank the door open, not with her broken ribs. Glancing at her tricorder she checked that it was safe before slowly moving forward.
“Well done.” M’Ressa murmured as she moved behind Sheriye, given that her grandkit had the tricorder. She looked around to see where they were in the ship and tried to calculate how far they still had to go to reach the flight bay.Rear Admiral M’Ressa
Sheriye CSOThe tricorder indicated they only had a few dozen yards to go… but fortunately the sound of a marine unit blowing up the deck beneath them indicated a quicker and straighter path if they just moved one deck down.
OOC: Please feel free to connect to the marine thread.
GM
M’Ressa grabbed Sheriye’s arm and halted her and she cocked her head to listen, hearing the sound of voices after the explosion. “Let’s join up with whoever that is. I have the feeling it will be our Marines since they have explosives.” Quickly the two female Caitian’s made their way to where the sounds of the explosions had come from.
OOC: I am moving them to join up with the Marines and Flight deck crew here: Deck 14 // Flight Deck: 22h42 - Gas Attack
