Heather had made her way to the deflector control, now she was working on repairs to the primary and secondary deflector array. She was used to making repairs, she wasn’t yet used to being the Chief of Engineering. Honestly, she sometimes wondered if she should have stayed another grunt engineer. Rather than being the one to make all the choices and orders for the engineers working under her. Using one of her tools she reversed the flow of power by passing the damaged system’s circuitry and wiring so she could work on the repairs needed. Reaching for a second tool she pulled the damage parts and with a third tool, she started to install the repaired parts that they had on hand in storage just in case of damages.

Heather ran the back of her sleeve across her forehead as she worked. The young Atlantean was careful, the last thing she needed was to injure herself and leave evidence of blood behind. It was one of the reasons she worked alone mostly whenever possible. And one of the reasons she liked being Chief was there was no one insisting that she works in a team environment. That meant less risk of discovery, but it also put her at risk because if she continued to work alone and there was ever an attack on the ship that left her isolated she could starve… It was, however, a risk she was willing to take rather than feeding on one of her fellow officers.

Finishing up the work on the primary and secondary systems of the deflector array, the Cheif released the flow of power back through the newly repaired systems, before closing the console panel. Heather, then packed up her tools and stood at the console to run a diagnostic to be sure that the primary and secondary systems were in working order.

As the diagnostic ran, and the readings looking positive. There was nothing telling her that the repairs to the secondary and primary systems of the deflector array hadn’t been successful. The diagnostic came back all systems green and the deflector was at full power. Which thankfully meant that Shields would be back at 100% soon as they could get the repairs done.
