After having watched the fighters arrive the Captain had motioned the XO to the CAG’s door, The door slid open when they approached, inside the Captain observed three marine pilots who appeared in a heavy meeting. Captain Jones spoke to the Major, “Excuse my interruption Major, Im Captain Jones, CO of the Chimera, This is Commander Halloway the Executive Officer.”

“ATTEN-TION!” snapped the Major, rising to his feet in on fluid motion and coming to attention, eyes straight ahead. “C-O ON DECK!”

Kicking her duffel bag under her chair, trying to make sure there was nothing peeking out, Carnegie rose to her feet and clasped her hands behind her back, trying to make her expression look natural and respectful as her brain went into overdrive. Were they there because of the damage to the bulkhead? Was that why they were there? Lardel seemed to have been quite understanding, but she really didn’t want to have her head bitten off by the Fleeters in Chief, in front of their Air Group Commander and Dawkins.

Though in Hannibal’s office and therefore such courtesies were uncustomary, Dawkins too snapped to his feet alongside Carnegie. His hands behind his back, he stood eyes forward wondering exactly why Fleet Brass were down in the Wing.

Halloway followed the Captain into the CAG’s Office. It was… huge, as was everything on this ship it seemed. She gave a smile at the sharp reaction of the CAG’s juniors and hoped such respect for The Chain was this consistent across the crews. “We’re just making rounds Major, neither of us meant to interrupt.”

Still at attention, Major Lardel said “No interruption Sir. Ma’am. These two are Squadron Commanders Captains Carnegie and Dawkins. I am Major Krin Lardel. Commander Air Group. We are your points of contact for the 399th Wing. The Black Sheep. We are debriefing our arrival, Captain Jones. You and the Commander are most welcome to join us if you have the time, Sir.” Lardel’s speech was crisp, professional, and efficient; as one would expect from a decorated Marine Aviator.

OOC: Corrected unit designation to 399th Wing instead of Squadron 399 and Squadron Commanders instead of Wing Commanders. :)

Captain Jones spoke with authority, knowing Marines were uncomfortable with anything less “As you were Marines. I just wanted to get a look at the new pilots, both the XO and I have more flight time than most of your pilots will have so anything you need we are here to help....” without knowing anything about the bulkhead incident “That is as long as you don’t scrape the paint or dent my bulkheads on this brand new ship, then I might have to put that pilot and his entire chain on waste reclamation duty until I get bored with it.” The Captain turned and walked away while stating “Carry on” without giving anyone any time to speak.

Halloway nodded and followed Jones from the room to continue their tour of the ship. Dawkins sighed in relief after the two were gone and smiled slightly at Hannibal. “I wonder just what the hell that was all about, Major? Kinda early for ‘dem two to be pokin’ around, ain’t it?”
