The Major walked into the dark office on board the Chimera. “Computer, lights at ninety percent.” and the office went bright. Lardel took a look around and simply nodded once. Walking to the desk, he tapped the display and said “Computer. Log in Major Krin Lardel. Authorization Bravo-Echo-Niner-Niner-Seven-Three-Omega.” There was a brief pause and the then an audible ‘beep’ and the computer said “Acknowledged. Commander Air Group on station at zero-five-thirty-seven minutes ship time.” Lardel dropped the onlive green flight bag he was carrying and stood at the desk. Tapping the comms, he said =/\= Commander Air Group to all Flight Team Leaders. Report to my office immediately. =/\= and he pulled up the latest manifests and personnel reports.

Maj. Lardel, CAG

Eleanor hadn’t even had the time walk to her quarters when the comm came. Heck, she hadn’t even had time to figure out where they were. After meeting with the pilots in her squadron about the botched landings and discussed what had gone right and what they could improve, Carnegie had stayed behind in the hangar bay performing a few simple systems checks on her craft before heading out. In fact, she had just grabbed her duffel bag when the CAG had called her in. Hurriedly untying her flight suit’s sleeves off of her waist and zipping it back up, Eleanor rushed out of the hangar bay.

It took her longer than she had expected, but Carnegie finally found her way to the Commander Air Group’s office. Still carrying her duffel bag over her shoulder, Carnegie walked up to the door and pressed the chime, waiting to be summoned inside.

The doors swished open silently and the Major could be seen standing at the desk looking at the display. As the doors opened, the short fireplug form looked up, the wrinkles and folds of the skin on his face shifting slightly at the sudden movement. “Captain.” the Major said simply in his typical greeting, and he gestured to a chair in front of the desk. “Bit of a bumpy landing for your newbies. I will assume that has been addressed?” he asked, although it was more of a statement.

Lardel, CAG

“Sir.” Carnegie said in way of greeting as she walked in. Dropping her duffel bag under the chair, she sighed almost inaudibly as she sat down. Of course he knew… Groaning inwardly, she gave Lardel a polite smile. “Yes Sir. I’ve spoken with the pilots in question. My apologies. I can assure you, it will not happen again.”

CPT Carnegie, Recon Squadron CO

“New ship, new craft, new personnel. Something was bound to go awry, Captain. I’m glad none of your team was injured.” and he looked at the chronometer on the desk display. “Have you seen Captain Dawkins? Not like him to be late.” the Major said, a look in his eye like something was amiss. “I would like to get us settled and in operational status by nineteen hundred hours ship’s time tomorrow.”

Lardel, CAG

Carnegie shot him another polite smile. She still didn’t want to think about what would have happened if that Ammo Loader hadn’t been empty, and she still thought that the Academy trained them better than to run into the bulkhead the moment they docked on a new ship. But she didn’t say anything.

“Dawkins?” She had just returned from leave, and the moment she had done so she had had to memorize so many names that she wasn’t sure who Dawkins was. “I don’t believe I hav–“

It was less than 30 seconds before Dawkins would be late for his meeting with the CAG and he was cursing and muttering to himself as he came around a turn and finally saw the office door a few steps away. “Giant frackin’ ship, stupid no-good LCARS map, why the hell do these have to be so damn…” The door hissed open and the tall, dark form of Captain Malcolm Dawkins stepped through. The bi-racial pilot took a step through the door and as it hissed shut behind him, the Marine snapped to attention. “You needed to see me, Sir?” He paused and then added. “I do believe I’m on time, am I not Hannibal?”

His flight suit was tan, indicative of an aviator who had seen more than a few dust ups in his career. Green suits were generally for Fleeters, younger pilots and those in general Transport Ops. He held a PaDD in his left hand and had a duffel over his right shoulder. His cover could be seen just sticking out the top of his right calf pocket. For someone that had just spent nearly 12 hours in a fighter, the Captain looked relaxed… if not a little flustered. His eyes were on Hannibal and then he saw the auburn haired pilot already seated and sighed softly. “I didn’t mean to interrupt. Can I grab a seat and you can continue, Major?”

Dawkins, Flight Leader

Eleanor eyed the new arrival with curiosity. Yes, she remembered his face, but she hadn’t been able to match the name. She kept quiet, waiting for the CAG to speak.

(OOC: Just pasting the above post back here. :) – Joana)

“No interruption, Captain. Take a seat.” the Major said and indicated the seat next to Carnegie. Taking a seat himself, he said simply to both Aviators “Status report.” This was not uncommon with Major Lardel, starting meetings he requested with an overarching question to those present. And it was indeed impressive, his ability to incorporate new information into plans that were still being designed.

Lardel, CAG

Carnegie’s eyes were still on Dawkins as she spoke. “The Sentinels are docked and locked, Sir.” Eleanor’s eyes finally moved to Lardel. “Aside from the, uh… bumps… everything is taken care of. I’ve briefed the Crew Chiefs and worked with them to handle the damage to the bulkhead. Post-flight checks are also done. I’m expecting the crew to report to Battalion Medical for their physicals and I will be doing the same tomorrow morning.”

When she finished, Carnegie’s gaze went back to Dawkins.

The Wing’s senior Squadron Commander rounded the other available seat, resting his duffel against his legs, the caramel-skinned Marine waited for the young woman to finish and then cleared his throat softly. “Aye… all three of my Flights are bedded down for the night. 204 had an issue with its left wing support strut on landing but aside from Jinx’s pride being hurt… you know how she gets… both bird and AC are fine. Deck Chief had a crew over replacing it before I could even get across the Deck. Black Knights touched down right after me. Siren was a bit queasy after the trip, I think it was her first really long transit in bird, and asked if I could bring you her report.” Dawkins leaned forward and handed Hannibal the PaDD he was holding. Nikki said aside from her getting sick, it was a pretty normal trip… no issues and she’d have her folks into Battalion Med by CoB tomorrow. As for Tracer, I honestly haven’t the foggiest damn clue where he is Sir.” Malcolm chuckled as he rolled his eyes. “The last time I saw the good Lieutenant in charge of the Warhawks, Mike was heading for his quarters to change. If he had any luck like mine, he probably got lost trying to find your office.” Dawkins smiled as he nodded to Carnegie. “Don’t be too hard on him Sir… you at least got the Sentinels and the Vikings… so, two outta four ain’t bad.”

OOC: Just adding a bit of color. I figure three Squadrons of 15 craft each for the Fighters. As we get new aviators, feel free to rotate out my little collection of NPCs. LOL
