Having finished the briefing Sapeth returned to Main Engeering, the most efficient course of action was to communicate the information as quickly as possible, and allow his engineering teams as much time as possible to develop their own ideas on how to solve the problem. The problem was not shutting down Starfleet tech, but it’s shutting it down for the rebels without affecting the Chimera or her teams.

He nodded to the watch standers as he passed through to his office. There he sent a message to the team leads and the officers, asking them to report to Engineering in 15 minutes for a briefing.

Shaw received the message while wrapping up EPS flow stability checks for the EPS conduits on Deck 9. As expected, everything was within tolerance. It was definitely a preferred task to the hull structural stress baseline mapping that Lt. Dimitri had tasked him with earlier in the day. There’s only so many micro-strain sensor sweeps on the hull that one can take. The Lieutenant’s message was actually a welcome distraction. He closed the conduit and packed his tool kit up and headed for the turbolift.

On arriving to Main Engineering, he noticed Lt. Sapeth and several other engineering crew members gathered around the master systems display. He made his way over, not wanting to be late. He nodded at the chief, “Good afternoon sir.”

“Ensign. How is your familiarization of the ship going?”

As the rest of the staff filed in, Sapeth waited calmly to the side. He returned several nods as they waited for him to start. With the last person arrived, he stepped forward.

“Our task is simple explanation, but as usual, complex in execution. We have been tasked to proceed to Scallax Prime, a world which is currently undergoing a revolution. They have potentially acquired Federation tech, and there is a, concern, that it will be turned against us. We’ve been tasked with discovering a way to limit the effectiveness or disable any Federation tech, without disrupting operations on this ship.

“Any questions?”

Hearing no questions or objections, “I expect to hear proposals by the time we arrive at our destination. Dismissed.”

As the teams dispersed, he turned and headed for his office. With the ship running nominally at the moment, he proceeded with his own investigation into what could be done. First step though was to better understand if the Cinzano had anything unique that could prove to be an issue for the Chimera. So to start, Sapeth brought up the latest equipment manifest as well as the recent replenishment orders for the ship.
