Ensign Shau looked at his PADD again, familiarizing himself with the layout and specifications of the Chimera. He’d never served on a Mjolnir class ship before, and the ‘saucer only’ design was new to him.

MJ was sitting in the crew mess hall on deck 21, looking through the device as he ate the last of his meal. He was still wiped out from the medical treatment he’d received on the Tribute, and the doc had told him to eat and replenish his energy. Truth be told, the session with the Counselor this morning has taken a bit out of me as well.

Ensign Shau had another appointment to keep, so he cleaned up the remains of his meal and set off for Alpha Sickbay on deck 3. That’s where he’d was told to find the Chief Medical Officer.

The Risian Ensign was more confident in this meeting than in the last. He’d been knocked unconscious while evacuating the Pickett, and his crewmates had dragged him the last few meters to the shuttle and saved his life. The doctor on the Tribute said he’d had a concussion, a few broken bones, and multiple lacerations. All of those injuries had been treated, but MJ could swear the left side of his face was still tender. Phantom pains, maybe?

While a boarding mission or heavy workouts in the gym might be a bad idea for a few days, MJ was confident he would be cleared for normal shipboard duty.

He checked in with the nurse when he arrived at Alpha Sickbay. “Excuse me Sir. I’m Ensign Shau. I’m here to check in with Lt Burcham.”
