Jarem continued to tend his Bajoran Kava-nut vine entwined with a Cardassian Lily graft. It wasn’t easy to do, but if it was, it would have been done, and they would have been found throughout the quadrant. He did it, not to make them a popular plant, but rather to investigate how the two plants could interact and grow together. Even though he was now a Counsellor, he never forgot his roots in the life sciences, neurobiology was his specialty, but botany was still in the field, and who said they didn’t feel, didn’t respond to the environment around them. Jarem knew of the sentient plants of Canticus Theatrum IV, and of Audrey II, a Venus fly trap who sang show tunes to the crew of the USS Ogawa a long time ago, following her transfer to the starship from the planet’s surface.
