After completing her medical in Sickbay, T’Leia headed up to the XO’s office to report in. She knew from the records that the XO was Bajoran, came up from through the Sciences, and served for many years on the Montgomery. A fine ship. Reaching the door she pressed the chime and waited.

Lt. T’Leia CSO

“Come in,” The XO’s voice came from the other side of the door; as T’Leia entered the room, she was greeted by the sight of Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah, his Bajoran earing hanging down from a slicked back mane of brown-blonde hair. The XO’s office could easily be mistaken for a science lab, a series of in progress experiments spreading the room, including what appeared to be a holographic representation of a micro wormhole on the centre of the main desk, “Ahh Lieutenant, take a seat, can I get you anything?”

T’Leia took in the whole office before stepping forward to peer curiously at the holo display. “A herbal tea would be fine, thank you Commander.” She slid into one of the chairs in front of his desk.
“Do you not find that distracting while you work, Commander?” She asked curiously.

Lunan chuckled, “Moving to the command track didn’t make me any less of a scientist Lieutenant - I find it is better to keep the mind on its toes at all times.”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

“Fascinating,” T’Leia commented before looking back at the Commander. The ball, as humans would say, was in his court.

“Tell me Lieutenant,” Lunan began, dropping into his seat, “What made you want the Chimera as an assignment?”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

T’Leia blinked, not having expected such a question and took a moment to consider it. “The Chimera is a rapid response ship for highly intense missions. That qualifier piqued my interest as it seemed that on a Science front there would be a chance to study phenomena that would be out of the ordinary.”

“We certainly deal with out of the ordinary things,” Lunan chuckled, “Have you been conducting any work outside of ship missions thus far?”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

“I have some virtual programs running that I brought with me. I am currently studying the birth of J3579.”

“Have you managed to find out anything of interest?”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

“Hmm, well it has been progressing as a typical stellar birth until recently when I’ve noted it speeding up somewhat which is unusual. I have been enjoying trying to deduce what may be contributing to this.”

Lt. T’Leia CSO

“Hmm,” Lunan thought for a moment, “Have you tried tracking the star’s trajectory, see if some extra factors - alterations to subspace for instance, are speeding up the birthing process?”

-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-

T’Leia’s brow arched in interest. “Not something that I had considered, actually. I was looking for actual physical factors such as nearby phenomena. I will check in subspace factors to the parameters and see what the results are.”
