Hall had been excused from the bridge to help with the records from the fight she was scanning through them. However, she wasn’t sure what she was looking for. She did however sit there working non-stop around the clock to figure out what she was trying to find in the records. Without knowing what it was she was looking for that was out of place she kept looking. However, something did catch her eye. But she wasn’t sure what it was.

The data was fairly straightforward. All signs indicated that the ships were operating under the control of a single amalgamated entity, formed from three Dominion Dreadnoughts. As the Y’Tang and Pickett moved in, they were immediately met with heavy fire. Their shields collapsed almost instantly.

Then a strange weapon discharged—crimson lightning arced through the void, striking both vessels. Upon impact, something began to spread over their hulls. A thick layer of biomatter crawled across them. The Y’Tang’s coating took on a pinkish hue, while the Pickett seemed to develop a reddish tone, though scattered patches of green and blue appeared along its surface.

The weapon appeared to originate from a horn-like structure—twisted and beastial in shape—jutting from both the massive central ship and several of the Dominion battlecruisers. The smaller Dominion attack ships lacked this feature entirely.

As the Y’Tang and Pickett were overtaken, the remaining fleet shifted. Their formation suggested a pivot—orienting toward the Chimera. Alongside this maneuver came new hostiles. Biological craft launched from both the corrupted dreadnought and the battlecruisers. They were dubbed “leaches” by the crew. Scans detected no engines, no shielding, no conventional technology. It was as if the monster ship had expelled something… raw. Something like a soul, reshaped into a grotesque biological fighter.

Each leach had a single massive eye at the front, from which it fired what appeared to be an antiproton weapon.

During their engagement with the leaches and five corrupted attack ships, a pattern emerged. The enemy seemed focused on targeting shields—working to drain or overwhelm them.

Then, the plan shifted. The Y’Tang, flung by the Tribute, collided with the central monster. Ordinarily, such a collision—even following a massive explosion—should have been stopped by intact shielding. Yet the Y’Tang made direct contact with the hull. There was no sign of defensive shielding around the corrupted vessel.

After the impact, the rest of the corrupted forces broke off—retreating into a defensive posture. The remaining leaches and attack ships were left to continue the assault on their own.

Hall sat there looking through the data and did notice a little anomaly. “Computer what is the status of the Pickett as of right now and what is the Y’Tang’s status.” As she needed more information.

The USS Pickett is now among the twenty-five Dominion starships confirmed to have been corrupted by the unknown entity. It has been fully consumed—its systems and behavior now entirely autonomous and unrecognizable. The IKS Y’Tang was lost when the USS Tribute, detecting a warp core breach in progress aboard the stricken Bird-of-Prey, engaged its tractor beam and hurled the vessel into the enemy mothership. The resulting detonation obliterated the Y’Tang on impact.
