The Sample was brought in and all three departments could start scanning and investigating the sample initially one major thing about it is This was Basically Bio-Circuitry almost 200 years advanced beyond what starfleet currently was even able to produce!however some life seemed to come back into the Sample it seemed to actually be flowing about the container as if looking for something!

“Lieutenant,” Lunan began addressing the Chief Engineer, “Have you any experience with… sentient bio-circuitry?”
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
Bob had hurried to Engineering and arrived just before Farrah and the others got there. He turned to face the XO and scratched his head puffing out his cheeks.
“I haven’t. Its definitely a new one for me!” He replied. Not even knowing where to begin.
“Lets start with a basic scan.” He stated opening a tricorder and scanning the the sample.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
The team had already done the basic scan and revealed the biocircuitry aspect. Still, it seemed the cells of the sample were becoming active again the closer they got to the system with the cargo ships as if it was reacting to something in the system. The blob of Bio Circuitry seemed to find the lip of the sealed sample container and appeared to be trying and failing to break out, luckily the sample would have no chance in this case the container was sealed. The only way it would get out would be if they dropped the container one of the Engineering NEs Ensign Rallis spoke up she was an Andorian and was looking at the sample very closely. “Sir what if we beamed an Isoliniar chip into the container with it? see what it does?” she suggested

“Not a bad idea.” Lunan piped up, “At least then we’ll know if it’s compatible with our tech?”
-Lt Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
Bob nodded staring at the sample with fascination.
“Good idea Ensign. Get an isolinia chip and beam it in to the sample. Let’s see what happens. I do love a good experiment!” He exclaimed excitedly.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
Ensign Rallis’s sharp, ice-blue eyes scanned the cluttered workbench, quickly identifying a potential candidate for their experiment. She grabbed a spare isolinear chip, her antennae twitching slightly as she inspected it. The chip was burned out and beyond repair—useless for its original purpose but perfect for testing their hypothesis.
With practiced efficiency, she accessed the transporter controls from a nearby engineering console, her fingers dancing across the interface.
“Let’s see how hungry you really are,” she murmured, her voice a mix of curiosity and unease.
Within moments, the chip materialized inside the containment jar. The blob of biomatter, now glowing with pulsating bioluminescent lines resembling circuitry, seemed to pause, as though sensing the new arrival. It turned with almost predatory intent and lunged at the chip.
The reaction was immediate and unsettling. The isolinear chip dissolved upon contact, its structure breaking down and assimilating into the pulsing mass. Within seconds, it was fully consumed. The biomatter swelled, its volume increasing until it filled a quarter of the containment jar. Its glowing circuitry patterns grew more intricate, their shifting complexity hinting at some form of awareness or intelligence.
“Containment field’s holding steady at 49% capacity,” Rallis reported, her tone calm but underscored with tension as she reviewed the readouts. “We’ve got room for one more test before this thing maxes out the jar.”
She turned toward her colleagues, her antennae angling forward in concentration. “What if we tried feeding it a biological sample next?” she suggested, her voice laced with both professional curiosity and the bold determination of a seasoned engineer.

Bob looked stunned as the biomatter consumed the chip. It was a look of pure fascination and slight worry. He nodded.
” I was just going to suggest that very same thing. Please go ahead and beam a bio sample in. I suggest we all stand back a bit just incase.” Bob stated edging away from the containment field and silently preparing himself for what was about to happen.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
Lunan looked up, ‘Computer, erect a force field around the area holding the bio matter sample.’
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
The extra forcefield shimmered into existence while Ensign Rallis worked the controls she looked around Engineering and saw Ensign Nokk the Tellarite sitting at a different Console he had his lunch with him a fresh bowl of Gagh Ensign Rallis Targeted the bowl and beamed it into the Sample container Nokk Looked around as his bowl Vanished “HEY! THAT WAS MY LUNCH!!!” he cried turning and glaring at Rallis “Sorry But This is important you Little toad!” she snapped
“Hey, calm down you two, that’s an order. Sort it out int he holodeck when this is all over.” Bob replied curtly.
“Sorry sir…” both Officers said though Rallis muttered under her breath “not my fault the Tellarites like being talked to that way…i was just trying to be polite”
Instantly the result was the same the Biomatter attacked and the Gagh bowl and all were consumed by the Biomatter which grew again reaching 75% of the container the Computer was blaring warnings “CONTAINMENT AT MAXIMUM WARNING ANY MORE GROWTH AND CONTAINMENT CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED” it seemed this thing Thrived on both Biological and Technological matterhowever, Scans indicated that EM fields affected it Such as Hull Polarization the method Early Federation ships used to protect their hulls before Starfleet had worked out Shield tech

((GMT Phoenix))Lt. Burcham watched in amazement as the engineers studied the sample. “So feeding it makes it grow, interesting.” He stated to nobody in particular.
Lt. Burcham, Chief Medical OfficerBob scratched his beard thoughtfully and with awe at the exponential growth of the organism. He turned to Dr Burcham.
“Grow is a bit of an understatement. This thing will basically feed off everything and anything. Both living and technological. I wander if there is anything it won’t feed off? If this thing gets near the ship we’re in a lot of trouble.” Bob replied folding his arms staring at the biological..... thing.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
“Lieutenant, what if we used hull polarization? It might disrupt whatever this… substance is and protect unshielded ships from being affected by it!” Ensign Rallis suggested, her tone thoughtful as she reviewed the readings they had gathered.
In the sample container, the strange entity continued to push futilely against its confines, clearly attempting to break free. Although it had yet to succeed, its persistent efforts underscored the threat it posed. The danger it represented was unmistakable, and at this point, destroying it seemed like the safest course of action.

((GMT Phoenix))“I’ll take any suggestion you think will work people,” Lunan said pointedly.
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
OOC: I think I misunderstood. So hull polarisation would work, whereas it would eat through shields?
OCC No Hull polarization will only prevent the spread of it or the entity from taking hold on the ship the shields do protect but this is another layer of protection
Kira The Weasel
((GMT Phoenix))
OOC: Thanks!
IC:Bob looked over to the Commander.
“I suggest that we use hull polarisation. It won’t protect the ships fully but it’ll slow the spread and give unshielded ships time to evacuate.” Bob stated nodding over to the Ensign who suggested hull polarisation.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
‘The word is given people, let’s get these folks safe,’ Lunan gave a curt nod.
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
Bob nodded and was about to contact the Captain when the Andorian Officer spoke up.
“Commander I might also have an idea to implement some kind of shielding on EV suits if the need arises” the andorian officer added quickly

((GMT Phoenix))Bob raised an eyebrow intrigued.
“Do tell Ensign.” He replied with interest.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
“If we repurpose some of the holo-emitters, we might be able to generate a rudimentary barrier—something that could at least slow this stuff down. If we configure the fields to emit a controlled electrical charge, it could repel whatever this… thing is and keep our people safe. It won’t hold forever—the power drain will be outrageous—but if we fine-tune the frequency and pulse intervals, we might be able to extend its effectiveness. It’s risky, and we’ll be pushing the power packs to their limits, but I truly believe this can work!” she declared, her eyes blazing with determination.
Kira The Weasel
((GMT Phoenix))Bob nodded thoughtfully and rubbed his bearded chin.
“Aye that could work.” “Although I’m not really up for being the first test subject!” Bob laughed.
“Good thinking Ensign, get to work on that and let me know when you’ve finished. He tapped his comm badge.
=^=Jeffers to the Captain. Captain, we have a plan to use hull polarisation as barrier for whatever this thing is. It won’t provide full protection but it will slow it down and give unshielded vessels at least a fighting chance. We’re also working on using the holo-emitters as a rudimentary barrier. I’m not too keen on testing out our theory on that one but it’ll do in a pinch.=^= Bob stated.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
‘Good work Ensign,’ Lunan noted.
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
=^=Jeffers you have my full permission to do what you can to stop these things, in the meantime we’re going to move the fleet into the nebula, hopefully that’ll confuse them and give us some much needed breathing space to get a better plan in play.=^=
=^=Aye Captain.=^= Bob replied.
“Well, you heard it everyone, we’ve got the blessing of the Captain. I want a team preparing the ship for entering that Nebula, everyone else let’s help the Ensign.” Bob went over to the Ensign.
“Tell me what you need Ensign.” He said with a smile.Lt. Bob Jeffers (CE)
Before she could answer the Sample began to emit a squealing noise that almost sounded as if it were in pain looking over at it the biolumanesant lines and other signs of life with in it began to fade it seemed that it was dying or going dormant again the further they got away from the fleet
Later still when the Chimera began to enter the Nebula the sample began to turn to dust, dying completely The team worked on the EV suits in the meantime though without a way to test this was one big theory as to wether or not it would work and all ships implemented Hull Polarization as an added layer to the shields now provided their observations were correct if any of the ships had their shields knocked out and were hit by the same weapon that doomed the USS Pickett it would at least help fend off total corruption if not stop it all together at least while the hull polarization field held
