The Sample was brought in and all three departments could start scanning and investigating the sample initially one major thing about it is This was Basically Bio-Circuitry almost 200 years advanced beyond what starfleet currently was even able to produce!

however some life seemed to come back into the Sample it seemed to actually be flowing about the container as if looking for something!

“Lieutenant,” Lunan began addressing the Chief Engineer, “Have you any experience with… sentient bio-circuitry?”

Bob had hurried to Engineering and arrived just before Farrah and the others got there. He turned to face the XO and scratched his head puffing out his cheeks.
“I haven’t. Its definitely a new one for me!” He replied. Not even knowing where to begin.
“Lets start with a basic scan.” He stated opening a tricorder and scanning the the sample.

The team had already done the basic scan and revealed the biocircuitry aspect. Still, it seemed the cells of the sample were becoming active again the closer they got to the system with the cargo ships as if it was reacting to something in the system. The blob of Bio Circuitry seemed to find the lip of the sealed sample container and appeared to be trying and failing to break out, luckily the sample would have no chance in this case the container was sealed. The only way it would get out would be if they dropped the container one of the Engineering NEs Ensign Rallis spoke up she was an Andorian and was looking at the sample very closely. “Sir what if we beamed an Isoliniar chip into the container with it? see what it does?” she suggested

“Not a bad idea.” Lunan piped up, “At least then we’ll know if it’s compatible with our tech?”

Bob nodded staring at the sample with fascination.
“Good idea Ensign. Get an isolinia chip and beam it in to the sample. Let’s see what happens. I do love a good experiment!” He exclaimed excitedly.

Ensign Rallis’s sharp, ice-blue eyes scanned the cluttered workbench, quickly identifying a potential candidate for their experiment. She grabbed a spare isolinear chip, her antennae twitching slightly as she inspected it. The chip was burned out and beyond repair—useless for its original purpose but perfect for testing their hypothesis.

With practiced efficiency, she accessed the transporter controls from a nearby engineering console, her fingers dancing across the interface.

“Let’s see how hungry you really are,” she murmured, her voice a mix of curiosity and unease.

Within moments, the chip materialized inside the containment jar. The blob of biomatter, now glowing with pulsating bioluminescent lines resembling circuitry, seemed to pause, as though sensing the new arrival. It turned with almost predatory intent and lunged at the chip.

The reaction was immediate and unsettling. The isolinear chip dissolved upon contact, its structure breaking down and assimilating into the pulsing mass. Within seconds, it was fully consumed. The biomatter swelled, its volume increasing until it filled a quarter of the containment jar. Its glowing circuitry patterns grew more intricate, their shifting complexity hinting at some form of awareness or intelligence.

“Containment field’s holding steady at 49% capacity,” Rallis reported, her tone calm but underscored with tension as she reviewed the readouts. “We’ve got room for one more test before this thing maxes out the jar.”

She turned toward her colleagues, her antennae angling forward in concentration. “What if we tried feeding it a biological sample next?” she suggested, her voice laced with both professional curiosity and the bold determination of a seasoned engineer.

Bob looked stunned as the biomatter consumed the chip. It was a look of pure fascination and slight worry. He nodded.
” I was just going to suggest that very same thing. Please go ahead and beam a bio sample in. I suggest we all stand back a bit just incase.” Bob stated edging away from the containment field and silently preparing himself for what was about to happen.

Lunan looked up, ‘Computer, erect a force field around the area holding the bio matter sample.’

The extra forcefield shimmered into existence while Ensign Rallis worked the controls she looked around Engineering and saw Ensign Nokk the Tellarite sitting at a different Console he had his lunch with him a fresh bowl of Gagh Ensign Rallis Targeted the bowl and beamed it into the Sample container Nokk Looked around as his bowl Vanished “HEY! THAT WAS MY LUNCH!!!” he cried turning and glaring at Rallis “Sorry But This is important you Little toad!” she snapped

Instantly the result was the same the Biomatter attacked and the Gagh bowl and all were consumed by the Biomatter which grew again reaching 75% of the container the Computer was blaring warnings “CONTAINMENT AT MAXIMUM WARNING ANY MORE GROWTH AND CONTAINMENT CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED” it seemed this thing Thrived on both Biological and Technological matter

however, Scans indicated that EM fields affected it Such as Hull Polarization the method Early Federation ships used to protect their hulls before Starfleet had worked out Shield tech
