Logan Reese had then heard that there was a new chief engineer on board however being the only engineer on the ship for a long while since he came on board. Now it’s a good chance to allow his new department head to get used to being part of the crew. However, it’ll be something that his department head is going to bring up is that engineering is going to be well liked here.

Bob was in his office going over the department report. He’d requested an update on the current status of the department shortly after he joined. He always felt it prudent to get the low down. He looked through the staff roster, included in the report and pressed his comm badge =^= Jeffers to Ensign Reese, please meet me in my office.=^= He states cheerfully.

=/\= Yes sir. Right away. =/\= he said smiling. He had then went to the new chiefs office and never thought he was needed right away. He then stood in front of the door and rang the chime and stood awaiting.

Bob was at his desk reading through the reports, he hadn’t expected the chime to ring so soon. He looked up as the door.
“Come in!” He called, his deep voice booming.

The young ensign had then walked in and said to his new boss, “Ensign Logan Reece reporting as ordered sir.” He said with a smile. Not ever knowing what is to be expected of him.

Bob smiled back at the Ensign from his chair and stood.
“Please take a seat Ensign. Can I get you anything to drink?” He asked walking over to the replicator in his office.

“No sir. But I do appreciate the offer though. Anyways. How can I help you?” He had said. Knowing that Logan has been around for a bit, but still an ensign, he shouldn’t be able to worry about anything. The only thing that he was worried about is that his last department head was around to talk.

Bob nodded and returned to his chair.
“Very well. Please sit.” He boomed when Logan sat he continued.
“As you may know I haven’t long been aboard and I wanted to take some time to get to know the department and those in it. What drew you to Starfleet?” He asked.

Lt Bob Jeffers (CE)

“Sir. Starfleet has and will be in my blood no matter what. Engineering is something I’ve always been interested in. Uh ever since our last department head that was here before you sir, he never responded to anything let alone busy I doubt it. But for the most part, I’ve always been able to do everything within Starfleet. Uh commanding a starship is been something I want to do but I do want to work my way up the ranks. I know that it’s for the best interest of my ability. However, I don’t know if there is even a command program. But you know something working in engineering is the best first destiny for myself. Even with you just coming aboard, I’m willing to help you. But however, that is if you accept. I know it’s a lot different having your junior officer showing you the ropes on board here on the Chimera. But I’m your man if you need to.” He said with a smile as he explained it to his department head.

Bob raises an eyebrow intrigued. The Ensign certainly was ambitious.
“Well, I’d better keep my eyes on you Ensign. You might take.my position right out from underneath me!” He replied with a deep, loud infectious laugh. Bob himself, was passionate about Engineering. He’d always had a lovely of ships, trying to work out what made them work.
“Ambition is all well and good Ensign. But why Engineering? Why not choose security?” He asked leaning forward slightly.

“Well sir. Security isn’t really my forte. Engineering has. I mean if you look at my service record, I have gotten a good record of being part of engineering.” He said with a slight smile.

Engineering Officer Logan Reese

Bob nodded.
“I have seen your record Ensign and it is impressive. I just wanted to know what it was about Engineering that drew you to it? For example, I’ve always loved working out ships work. I’m always taking things apart and putting them back together again.”
“Have you been on the ship long?” He asked.

Lt Bob Jeffers (CE)

“I’ve been here for the past 2 weeks sir. Uh for me it drew me it’s fixing and repairing things has been my specialty but however becoming a Chief Engineer has been something. But if I were to be Chief Engineer I’d like to be recommended for a vessel hat doesn’t have anything.” He said with a smile.
