After getting some sleep and a decent breakfast, Freja made her way to her ready room, having sent a request for her XO to meet her there at 0900 hours.

She’d meet with the senior staff after briefing her XO, there wasn’t much of a rush as they were a few days travel from their destination anyway.

Lunan recieved the call while working on the duty roster for the next few Alpha Shifts. He did not know much about why the Chimera was heading to Deep Space Nine, but had to admit that he was nervous about heading back to the place that for a few years had been the centre of turmoil within his family. Lunan’s father, Lunan Elcon served under the boot of the Cardassians before the days of Captain Benjamin Sisko, before joining the resistance and serving under Major, later Colonel Kira Nerys. As a young child, Lunan had always had an interest in science and exploration, which is why he joined Starfleet in the first place, although he had to admit that the sight of some of the experiments performed by the Resistance before Starfleet took over Terok Nor sometimes made him question why he was always so ‘science leads’ in the first place.

“Commander, come in,” she greeted, “I won’t keep you long, but I wanted to go over the basic orders while we hike over to DS9, ultimately we’re subbing in for another ship that’s gone back to spacedock for repairs. Not sure what we can expect, but I’d like the crew to practice readiness drills. I recommend taking a look at the recent reports from the area to see what sorts of things we might expect. Be sure to add in anything you think might be pertinent. I’ll be holding a senior staff briefing probably later today, give everyone the scoop as we know it. Do you have any questions at this stage?”

“What’s the state of play at Deep Space Nine as it stands?” Lunan asked, not being too familiar with the goings on at the Bajoran Frontier at this point.

“Far as I know, perfectly fine,” Freja shrugged, “We should be prepared for anything though I’d wager, I’ll pull some recent reports and make them available for you and the crew so we can brush up on the current state of things there. I don’t know how long we’ll be subbing in there, but it’s probably a good idea to get our heads around things before we show up.”
