With everything sorted with the previous mission, Freja thought it was a good time to offer a small celebration for the officers for all their hard work. The staff were always impeccable with their selections for food and drink, so she left it up to them to decide. In the meantime, she had a few commendations and whatnot to hand out.Having finished up her notes, she strolled into the observation lounge to oversee the last of the preparations.

Keitah observed the activity in the lounge as she entered, her gaze moving across the room.
She approached Freja with a smile, acknowledging her leadership with a nod. “Everything looks to be coming together nicely, Captain. Events such as this area are always important for the crew’s morale.” She clasped her hands behind her back, swaying gently on the balls of her feet, “Now that the mission is over, I believe it’s essential to conduct post-mission evaluations with each member of the crew. And I would like to start with you.”Lieutenant Naisyr
(Counselor)“Now or do you want to schedule another time?=^= Freja asked with a shrug. It didn’t matter to her either way, everything was running together smoothly, there wasn’t a set agenda for this party, beyond a few commendations she wanted to hand out, but she could do that after everyone settled in a bit more, rather than right away.

“We can schedule it for later,” Keitah replied, her decision made. “Enjoy the festivities for now, Captain. We can discuss the evaluation at a more convenient time.”
“Sounds fine Counselor,” Freja replied with a smile.
As she spoke, her attention shifted to the entrance where Gallahan stumbled in, carrying two covered trays of delicacies for the party. Keitah greeted him with a friendly smile, acknowledging his presence.
Gallahan stumbled in a clumsy fashion into the Observation lounge. He carried with him two covered trays with some delicacies he’d selected for the party. The concentration required to carry the trays without dropping them was obvious, as was the relief on Gallahan’s face that he’d made it to his destination without smearing anything on the Carpets.
“Excuse me.” He said politely. “I hope I’m not to early?” Scott’s shyness was still there, but he was gradually coming out his shell, and he felt so much better for it.Ensign Scott Gallahan
Security Officer“Not at all, Ensign Gallahan,” she replied. “Your timing is perfect. Those treats look delightful.” She gestured towards the trays with a nod of approval.
Lieutenant Naisyr
(Counselor)“Yes, please help yourselves to the refreshments.”
~Freja Andreassen~
“Thank you!” Gallahan smiled as he walked over to the refreshments table and placed his items down. “I’ve brought some things that remind me of growing up, so I have some Cherry Bakewell Tarts here, and a Bowl of Chocolate Trifle too.”
Ensign Scott Gallahan
Security Officer“Excellent, they sound amazing,” Freja smiled.
~Freja Andreassen~
Keitah watched Gallahan as he placed the trays on the table. She admired his effort; it wasn’t easy for someone like him to step out of his comfort zone, especially in a social setting like this.
“Cherry Bakewell Tarts and Chocolate Trifle, you say?” Keitah said, stepping closer to the table. “You have excellent taste, Ensign. These will surely be a hit.”
As she reached for one of the tarts, she thought about her own journey. She, too, had once been shy and hesitant, but through the support of friends and colleagues, she had found her voice and place. She saw a bit of her younger self in Gallahan, and it warmed her heart to witness his growth.Lieutenant Naisyr
(Counselor)Freja continued to watch people mill about, she hoped this would help build some more rapport with the crew. In a less high pressure situation, it was meant to be lighthearted and fun.

Vega was still riding the high of her recent therapy session, it had really helped her discover herself and helped her find her place on the ship and as a host trill. She entered the observation longue with no real agenda other than maybe meet a few people or just simply observe the crew. She ordered herself a drink, a mocktail pina colada and set about walking around to see if there was anyone she felt she could engage with.

USS ChimeraFreja merely nodded in acknowledgement as Ensign Dal entered, as a Captain, she was acutely aware that often her rank put people on edge, so she liked to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on younger officers by forcing a social situation. Particularly in this case as her party was meant to be casual, where people could interact without a crisis hanging over their heads.
Being mostly Betazoid also made her aware too that her race sometimes set people on edge too, people wondering if she was reading their minds and discovering their secrets. She really only trotted out that parlour trick when it was useful against a hostile force, it was never exact given she wasn’t practiced like other Betazoids…not that she wanted to become practiced.
Helping herself to a glass of akvavit (well, the close approximation available with synthehol), she continued to watch her crew arrive and mingle. She’d get started once more people had arrived.

Having placed the food on the table Gallahan walked over to the replicator. “Amber ale, chilled” He spoke quietly and the replicator hummed into life and soon a glass filled with foamy golden liquid appeared. He picked it up and took a refreshing sip from the glass. For some strange reason he felt much more comfortable when he had something to do with hands.
