The injured woman in question was moving with a noticeable limp. Her twin sister was with her. Both wore a kind of wispy shimmering fabric that only accentuated their figures and slight bathing suit under it. “Thank you,” she said with at thick accent that may have been from Argelia. “Was walking along the pool when .. did we hit something? And I fell.”
Her sister remarked, “Better that than caught in the Tsunami from the pool.” She sighed. “And no hunky lifeguards to save me.” She didn’t look particularly injured or shaken. “You are walking better now. Hip loosening up?”
“Some, but I am not about to give up this chance for an escort.”“The faster you clear the flight deck, the faster my Marines are off-duty ladies. So get a move on.” Cull said with a wink and slight push to the exits.
Meanwhile the situation in the bay was that it was increasingly getting crammed with people thanks to greater efficiency with the shuttles. It could be bad were there an emergency but at the moment everyone was doing the best they could and the corridors were only so wide.

OOC: Quick crosspost from Engineering
”=^= All Marines, this is the XO, we’ve rerouted a bit more power to the transporters from Engineering, my hope is that this will help you evacuate as many of the Empress’ passengers as possible. =^=”
-Lt. Commander Lunan Farrah: XO-
OOC: Crossposting
=/\= All Marines break contact and return to position around Chimera! Evac shuttles, you have time for ONE last trip! No more after! That means you, IRIS! =/\= Lardel barked. There was no way the fighters could keep themselves from the gravity well if they stayed any longer; all he could do was hope that the evac shuttles had cleared the passengers and crew.
Lardel, CAG
=/\=Aye Colonel.=/\= Siraa meant it, but she also wasn’t leaving anyone behind if she could help it. =/\=IRIS to all evacuation shuttles. You heard the colonel. Last trip. Get as many people as you can. Tell them to hold their breath. Then create 4 relay lines to help the Chimera boost the power for the transporters.=/\=
=/\=Mar Cpt sh’Rharror to Empress. The sheer has gotten too bad. We can’t hold. This is our last run. Chimera is going to try and boost power to the transporters as well.
=/\==/\=IRIS to all marines on the Empress this is our last run. You get on the last transports no matter what.=/\= She kept the comms open until she got confirmation from everyone.
Mar. Capt. sh’Rharror, Delta SQLD
The power re-route did help. It did give a little more to the transporters to snag people from the doomed (?) liner. It didn’t speed the process but it did allow them more time to do it ..
- Wookiee“Alright people!” She yelled to her people. ” Let’s keep these people moving. Quickly let’s go let’s go. Let’s get this hangar bay cleared and out of the way. Get these people to med bay immediately. We need to get moving. Let’s go people stop slacking!” She ordered her department. As her department started to move all of the people out of the main hangar bay into designated areas, Lieutenant Hall had then felt like it was time for things to die down a little bit. Since her and her people have been over worked.
Lieutenant Hall. CoS.
The Raiders could here the comms play as the Black Sheep spoke back and forth. Manika chirped loudly, “Alright, let’s move! These people don’t want to be saved from a doomed ship to die by fire from the birds landing. Clear the deck!” People were moved in double time. If they were hurt, they were carried, if they argued over safety checks, they were forcibly removed and detained until ship’s security could retrieve them.
Captain Grel got the bay ready for fast landings and movement of shuttles and birds down to storage to make room for the rest to land.
Maj. Manika-Esp, 2IC, Marine Battalion
When Lieutenant Hall looked at the Major, she had smiled with a little red in her cheeks smiling so hard. “Major. After this we should go to the mess hall and chill and take a little break. We’ve been at this for hours and I know we could use a break after we get these people in good health.” As Lieutenant Hall said to the Major. Hall, then continued to help her staff of security officers and hoping they get everyone in the medical bay to get helped and treated. “Alright! My security team listen up! I know we are exhausted and tired of doing this. But it’s in our best interest of us helping these people! The major and I are helping guiding these people! We will need y’all to do your best! Stay on your feet! As your department head once this is over I order all security teams to take a long break until your next shift! Duty shifts will be updated after all of this! Let’s keep this going and keep these people moving!” She continued to push her people. She then tapped her badge =/\=Hall to Captain. My people are doing their job so is the colonels and the majors people. However, we are getting a little swamped here. Once these people are medically cleared I want deck 7 cleared. And out of the way. It’s in our best interest that these people have a place to sleep till they are medically healed.=/\= she tapped her badge again.
Lieutenant Hall -Security-
Gallahan took heed of the security chief’s encouragement and continued to guide and direct the cruisers passengers as best he could. This felt like a very hectic situation and tried his best to stay level headed an cool. Becoming overwhelmed now was not an option.
Ensign Scott Gallahan
Security OfficerShe then taps her badge to the ensign. “Ensign how is it over there right now?” She asked her junior officer.
CoS Hall
The voice of the Fighter Squadron came over all comms. =/\= Hannibal to all stations. Do we have a fix on the Captain of the Empress =/\=
Lardel, CAG
Cull paused… and then cursed. How could he have not caught that? “RAIDERS!!!” he bellowed over the din of the flight deck. “Separate all ship’s officers from passengers and secure them with Chimera Security teams!” The massive Xindi-Reptilian looked down at the Security Chief. “Inquest. There will be an inquest. We need to get all the officers and crew separated and isolated so that you can get statements from them.”
Cull, MCO
=/\= Attention all personnel. Intruder alert. =/\=. “Colonel. Can you handle it here till I get everyone else moved to a safe place with my people?” She asked.
CoS Hall
“Lt. Hall, we need to set up a seperate area of the crew of the Empress from their passengers. Can your people help sort the ones who’ve already cleared the flight deck? We’ll do the same inside.” Esp left the directing of the evacuees to the Hall’s people and moved back into the flight deck. She started redirecting the Empress’s crew toward Cull and the passengers out the flight deck to Hall’s people.
Maj. Manika-Esp, 2IC, Marine Battalion
The crew that were found - apart from the large volume of general cabin help - were limited. A few medical staff from their infirmary, only a couple of engineers - the highest ranking was a petty officer who had been off duty at the time, no security and no senior officers. Only some Ensigns who were in charge of the day to day in their departments. The Captain was nowhere to be seen, nor were the other senior officers. It was probable that they had not come over and was still on board the Empress with the remaining passengers that had not been taken out.
The ship rocked in the midst of this hunt, a single rolling rock then back to stability.
- WookieeCull looked around and cursed under his breath. He tapped his communicator and said =/\= Marine CO to Transporter. We’re clearing the flight deck now. If you need it, use the cargo transporters here to boost your transporter power. And hell, if need be, use them to haul people over. I know they aren’t rated for personnel, but it’s better we try than to just leave someone because we didn’t have room on the pads! =/\=
Cull, MCO
The last of the evacuee shuttles landed, piloted by one Marine Aviator by the call sign of IRIS. As the last of the Empress people hurried off, IRIS stuck her head out hatch and her voice boomed over the commotion as she spotted the person she needed, “COLONEL CULL! Requesting a Raider SAR team! The Empress command crew didn’t evacuate and they’re on the bridge. Life support and comms are down. Power is almost gone.”
Mar. Capt. sh’Rharror, Delta SQLD
Cull didn’t pause. “RAIDERS ON ME!!!” he bellowed across the flight deck. Any Marine not currently tasked with civilians broke away and others started tossing packs and tactical gear. A particularly wiry Caiten Marine ran up to Cull and handed him a well-traveled bag and Cull just nodded. He led the team of ten Raiders to IRIS’s shuttle and they all climbed inside. “Go!” Cull barked as the hatch was starting to close and he stepped in.
Manika’s head swiveled around even as she helped a woman with a significant limp. Her eyes focused in on Cull and the marines following him toward one of the evac shuttles. She nodded to Cull and turned back to clearing the flight deck.
Maj. Manika-Esp, 2IC, Marine Battalion
“Raiders.” Cull said as they began getting fitted out for the rescue, “We are going to get everyone we can off that ship.” He dropped the bag to the deck and began pulling out tactical gear and putting it on in smooth and efficient movements. “Drih. You, Smalls, and Hycen sweep the passges and you grab anyone you can. If they are mobile, they help move those that aren’t. Pull anyone out you can. The rest of us are going to the bridge. We grab anyone we can on the way. Priority is the wounded. After that, anyone else. But we have to try to get the bridge crew off… whether they want to or not. Got it?!” “OOH-RAH.” was the synchronized response. Cull tapped his commbadge. =/\= Raiders to Chimera Command and Black Sheep. We are en route to evac anyone we can. Prep for wounded and make sure there are evac shuttles on standby. =/\=
Cull, MCO
IRIS was already turning the shuttle back around even as the door was closing. As soon as it did, the shuttle shot off out of the Chimera. The troop shuttles had speed and armor and power for their size, but they weren’t as maneuverable as a fighter. That was okay. It didn’t need to be. “Welcome aboard Raiders. I’m IRIS your pilot. Your flight attendant there is Jack.”
“We’ll all have the chicken. And what’s the in-flight movie?” one of the Raiders asked and all of them, including Cull, laughed.
Jack, a wiry Bolian turned from the science station. “The Empress has minimal power, no life support, and no comms. They took a tumble on that pulse wave. Most are probably got knocked around a lot. It’s going to get cold in there pretty quickly. The aft section is missing most of the hull. Scans say the emergency forcefields went up. I can’t tell from here whether the anti-grav is still working or not. Extra med kits and O2 masks are in the starboard storage compartment. Port side by the transporter controls are transport tags. Anyone you can’t get up and moving, tag ‘em. Might not be completely safe, but better than leaving’ them.”
“Done.” said Cull and he tossed a bag of tags to each Raider. “If the tag goes live, just transport. Don’t wait.” Cull ordered the shuttle crew.
“Will do Colonel. With the added power from the Chimera will beam them directly to the ship,” Jack assured him.
IRIS docked the shuttle at the most forward hatch, and Jack went to work securing the seal and then opened the hatch and stepped out of the way. “Good Hunting.”
Mar. Capt. sh’Rharror, Delta SQLD
Rather like the Titanic must have seemed, the stern where the explosion took place was messy and torn, though forward sections where the ship only suffered jolts and tumbles, the corridors were broad, clean and richly apportioned. They were also on marginal emergency lighting making these corridors dim. Here and there personal effects dropped in the evacuation could be seen and some chairs or benches that had been there were knocked over. In sections where gravity had been lost said items were more an obstacle. The air was cool and tainted with a metallic musky scent. And it was quiet. Nothing it seemed was running. No air vents, no voices, nothing like that.
The Raiders wore their gear, which consisted of full helmets with tactical displays and two hours of breathable air tailored to their specific species physiology. All Marines trained exhaustively for zero-g operations, so they were adept at moving through the environment safely and efficiently.
Here and there the team came across individuals. Mainly singly. A pair here and there. Most were crew. Only a couple were stray passengers. Forward to the bridge there was more power - likely an emergency generator - the lighting was still an emergency lighting and nominal gravity but it was better than what there was.
- WookieeAs the team moved through the passages, they began to split off into pairs, tagging individuals as they went. Inner-squad comms could be heard in the shuttle, and they all were in constant communication; relaying information on injured, where tags were being deployed, and what they saw and encountered. As the Raiders approached the bridge, Cull activated his comms. =/\= This is the Marine Raider Battalion to the bridge of the Empress. We are approaching your location and you will be evacuating the ship. Prep for transport. =/\= he said, his voice brokering no negotiation.
Cull, MCO
IRIS was monitoring the Raider’s signals as Jack watched for the tags. As each one went live, Jack locked on and beamed the person attached to the tag directly to the triage area of the flight deck.
Mar. Capt. sh’Rharror, Delta SQLD
As Cull and the four Raiders approached the doors to the bridge, he tapped his comm. =/\= IRIS, get ready for the bridge crew. Let the Chimera know they are incoming and may be in a bad mood. I’m not waiting for them agree. =/\= He looked at the Raiders and said “Don’t ask. Slap the damn tags on ‘em and get them out of here. I want the bridge cleared in sixty seconds. I’m on Captain and XO, you get the rest.”
Cull, MCO
=/\=Acknowledged Colonel.=/\= Sirra switched the comms. =/\=Major Esp, this is Cpt sh’Rharror. Empress Command crew incoming. Colonel Cull says they might be in a bad mood.=/\=
=/\=We’re ready for them, Cpt.=/\= The avaian major responded.
Siraa nodded to Jack, “As soon as the tags light up Jack.” The woman grinned at Siraa, “Yes ma’am. Just hate we won’t get to see their faces.”

As the Raiders formed up two on a side with Cull facing the door, Cull said over comms =/\= Empress Bridge, this is Colonel Cull of the Raiders. =/\= he scanned the other side of the door to make sure the environment was safe. =/\= Bridge, do you copy? =/\= he said one last time. Finally, there was a reply. =/\= Colonel! This is Captain DeVarr of the Empress! We have six officers in here and myself. We… We are all injured, some severely. We need evac, but we still have passengers and crew on board. =/\= Cull said =/\= We are transporting the remaining passengers and crew off as we speak, but this ship isn’t going to hold. Get everyone in rescue masks and helmets and then we are coming in. You have thirty seconds starting… now. =/\= A countdown appeared in the tactical display of each of the Raiders and Cull and his team moved into position. One Marine yanked the cover of the manual door release and took the handle, ready to pop the door as soon as the timer stopped. The other three and Cull readied transporter tags , two each with Cull handing one to the Marine on the door. He motioned to each one where to go once they were through the door. When the timer reached ten, he began an out-loud count. “On me in ten…”
“Nine…”
“Eight…”
“Seven…”
“Six…”
“Five…”
“Four…”
“Three…”
“Two…”
“One…”
“GO! GO! GO!” Cull yelled as the door slid open with a muffled BANG as the emergency hydraulics yanked it sideways. The Marines spilled into the bridge and began tagging crew and calling for transport. Cull made his way to the Captain, still seated in her chair, and simply stuck a tag to her shoulder and commed =/\= Raiders to Black Sheep! All tags active! Get them the hell outta here! =/\= He then looked at his team and shouted “Back to the birds! Evac in sixty seconds!” and they began running for the waiting transport.
