With everything sorted with the previous mission, Freja thought it was a good time to offer a small celebration for the officers for all their hard work. The staff were always impeccable with their selections for food and drink, so she left it up to them to decide. In the meantime, she had a few commendations and whatnot to hand out.

Having finished up her notes, she strolled into the observation lounge to oversee the last of the preparations.

Keitah observed the activity in the lounge as she entered, her gaze moving across the room.
She approached Freja with a smile, acknowledging her leadership with a nod. “Everything looks to be coming together nicely, Captain. Events such as this area are always important for the crew’s morale.” She clasped her hands behind her back, swaying gently on the balls of her feet, “Now that the mission is over, I believe it’s essential to conduct post-mission evaluations with each member of the crew. And I would like to start with you.”

“Now or do you want to schedule another time?=^= Freja asked with a shrug. It didn’t matter to her either way, everything was running together smoothly, there wasn’t a set agenda for this party, beyond a few commendations she wanted to hand out, but she could do that after everyone settled in a bit more, rather than right away.

“We can schedule it for later,” Keitah replied, her decision made. “Enjoy the festivities for now, Captain. We can discuss the evaluation at a more convenient time.”

“Sounds fine Counselor,” Freja replied with a smile.

As she spoke, her attention shifted to the entrance where Gallahan stumbled in, carrying two covered trays of delicacies for the party. Keitah greeted him with a friendly smile, acknowledging his presence.

Gallahan stumbled in a clumsy fashion into the Observation lounge. He carried with him two covered trays with some delicacies he’d selected for the party. The concentration required to carry the trays without dropping them was obvious, as was the relief on Gallahan’s face that he’d made it to his destination without smearing anything on the Carpets.
“Excuse me.” He said politely. “I hope I’m not to early?” Scott’s shyness was still there, but he was gradually coming out his shell, and he felt so much better for it.

“Not at all, Ensign Gallahan,” she replied. “Your timing is perfect. Those treats look delightful.” She gestured towards the trays with a nod of approval.

“Yes, please help yourselves to the refreshments.”

“Thank you!” Gallahan smiled as he walked over to the refreshments table and placed his items down. “I’ve brought some things that remind me of growing up, so I have some Cherry Bakewell Tarts here, and a Bowl of Chocolate Trifle too.”
