When he was done checking in with the doctor at the medical bay he then walked to the counselors office. Didn’t know the crew very well since this is his first assignment and then rang the chime to the counselors office. He then stood their patiently waiting and awaited to come in.

Ensign Logan Reese -Engineer-

Keitah had been pacing in thought when the chime rang. “Come in,” she called out, her voice calm and inviting. She watched the door slide open, revealing Ensign Reese standing on the other side. She offered him a warm smile as she waited for him to enter, also taking in his demeanor with a quick, practiced assessment.

“Ensign Reese, from Engineering? Please have a seat,” Keitah gestured to the chair in front of her desk as she moved to take her own seat behind it.

“Yes ma’am. I am from engineering ma’am. And thank you ma’am. I appreciate taking some time for you to get to know me I’m guessing that’s what you.” He said.

Ensign Reese -Engineer-

Keitah nodded, her smile still in place as she observed Ensign Reese’s polite demeanor. “Yes, Ensign Reese. As the ship’s counselor, it’s part of my duty to ensure the well-being and cohesion of our crew. Getting to know each member on a personal level helps in maintaining a supportive environment,” she replied, her tone warm and reassuring.
“Tell me, Ensign Reese, how are you finding life aboard the ship so far? Any challenges or concerns you’d like to discuss?” Keitah asked, her gaze intent as she focused on him, ready to listen and offer guidance if needed.

“Well counselor. I’m not so sure just yet. I mean don’t get me wrong. She’s a nice ship. It’s just it’s my first ever assignment and I’m not so used to not being around people that I don’t know if I’m going to like or dislike. Now as for you, I like you. You got a good demeanor and so does the captain. But other than that I don’t know.” He had said.

Keitah maintained her warm smile, nodding in understanding as Ensign Reese spoke. She appreciated the honesty and could empathize with the feeling of uncertainty that often accompanied new assignments, especially in a vast and unfamiliar environment like a starship.

“I understand, Ensign Reese. Adjusting to a new environment can be challenging, particularly when it’s your first assignment. It’s natural to feel a bit uncertain at first,” Keitah replied, her voice gentle and reassuring. She made a note to keep an eye on Ensign Reese and offer support as he acclimated to life aboard the ship.

“If there’s anything specific on your mind, whether it’s about the ship, your duties, or just adjusting in general, please share them.” There was a pause, “So you have met the Captain? You said she had a good demeanor, how did you determine that? Was it anything she said or did?”

“She just very welcoming. I like it when someone’s welcoming. Not many people are like that nowadays. If you know what I mean.” He had said.

Ensign Reese

“I understand what you mean,” Keitah replied, her smile widening slightly. “It’s reassuring to encounter someone who makes an effort to create a welcoming atmosphere, especially in a new setting. And yes, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Captain Andreassen. She has a way of putting people at ease with her demeanor and approachability. I may be biased but I am sure it’s due to her being part Betazoid.”
As she spoke, Keitah couldn’t help but reflect on her interactions with Captain Andreassen. The captain’s calm confidence and genuine interest in her crew always left a positive impression on Keitah. It was one of the reasons she admired Captain Andreassen’s leadership style and tried to emulate it in her own interactions with the crew.
“I’m glad to hear that you found her welcoming,” Keitah continued. “If you ever have any questions or concerns about your duties or anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out, especially during those initial adjustment periods. Take your time settling in and you are always welcome back here anytime. If there is nothing else you’d like to discuss. I will let you go so you can go and get familiar with the ship. “

“There is one thing I do want to discuss about but it is more on a personal matter. If you have time?” He started to question himself wondering if it is appropriate to discuss personal matters.

Ensign Reese.

Keitah nodded, her curiosity piqued at Ensign Reese’s request to discuss a personal matter. “Of course, Ensign Reese,” she said, gesturing for him to continue. “Feel free to share whatever is on your mind. That’s what I am here for.”

As she waited for Ensign Reese to speak, Keitah mentally prepared herself to offer support or guidance, depending on what was revealed. She understood the importance of creating a safe space for crew members to express themselves, especially when it came to personal concerns or struggles.

“Well counselor. I’ve read through all the rules and regulations of starfleet but however, I’ve had a feeling if I were to um well you know have certain relations with someone I would be afraid that it’ll be breaking the rules and regulations. It’s just I don’t know. It’s weird to say it but I’ve had a um well you know a crush on someone but I haven’t had the chance to tell them. But I know that they might not even be assigned here or if they are I feel like I’m not good for them.” He had said to her.
