T’Rea walked through the halls with a surprising aura of happiness for a Vulcan. She smiled and looked around the whole way down the hall. People looked at her like she was crazy but she didn’t care. She loved the looks of this ship already. She eventually came upon the Counseling Center. This was her destination, but she kept letting herself get sidetracked by almost everything. Oh well, she thought. She got here, didn’t she?
She collected her thoughts, and pressed the button to open the door. When she walked in, she immediately got whisked away from her task by how cool she thought the room looked. She could be seen smiling quite happily, just looking around the room, content with herself. It was unclear if she would ever step farther in and accomplish what she meant to accomplish.
Lieutenant T’Rea (CSO)
As T’Rea entered the room, Keitah emerged from another adjacent room and warmly greeted her. In her hand, Keitah held a steaming cup of green tea. The vision of the woman triggered memories of the conversation she had previously shared with Colonel Lardel regarding Vulcans. “Hello,” she said. “You must be our new Science Officer. I’m LeKeitah Naisyr, the ship’s counselor. I assume you’re here for your onboarding psych evaluation?”
Naisyr, Counselor
She turned to look at Ketiah. “That I am. My name is T’Rea. Nice to meet you!” She said, smiling sweetly at Ketiah. It appeared she used her emotions more like a human than a Vulcan. She looked at his drink for a moment as well.
Lieutenant T’Rea (CSO)
Keitah smiled back at T’Rea, appreciating the warmth and sincerity in her expression. She noticed T’Rea’s attention directed towards her drink and decided to offer some information.
“I am drinking a cup of green tea,” Keitah said, holding it up slightly. “It’s a blend I personally enjoy. This variation is actually from my home world. It has a calming effect and is known for its numerous health benefits. Way better than the Earth version. Would you like a cup? It might help create a relaxed atmosphere for our conversation.”
Keitah motioned towards a nearby table with a couple of chairs. “We can sit there and proceed with your onboarding psych evaluation. It’s a standard procedure for new crew members to ensure we understand your needs and provide any support you may require during your time on the ship.”
She took a sip of her tea, allowing the steam to waft upward, and then set the cup back down on the saucer. “Of course, it’s entirely up to you if you’d like to have a cup. I’m here to assist you and make this process as comfortable as possible.”
Naisyr, Counselor
OOC: I am sorry, I just noticed I typed “his” instead of “hers” earlier. So sorry.IC:
“I would quite like a cup thank you.” T’Rea said, taking one of the chairs. She sat back a little, unable to wipe the smile off her face. “How long have you been aboard?” She asked, trying to make small talk.
Lieutenant T’Rea (CSO)
Keitah nodded, ordered another cup from the replicator and handed it to T’Rea before taking a seat.
As T’Rea asked about Keitah’s time aboard the ship, Keitah placed her cup on the table and crossed her legs comfortably. “I’ve been aboard for about two years now,” she replied, taking a moment to reflect. “Time flies when you’re exploring the vast reaches of space. It’s been an incredible journey so far, filled with new discoveries and fascinating encounters.”She took another sip of her tea, considering her words. “The crew here is like a family to me. We’ve traveled to distant star systems, encountered alien civilizations, and overcome challenges together. It’s a dynamic environment, constantly changing and keeping us on our toes. But it’s also rewarding, knowing that we’re pushing the boundaries of knowledge and contributing to the advancement of humanity.”
Keitah paused for a moment, studying T’Rea’s expression. “What about you? How did you find your way to this ship? And what are you looking forward to in your time here?” she asked, interested in getting to know her new crewmate.
Naisyr, Counselor
“I was given the opportunity when I was serving as a Junior on my previous ship. I just had to jump on it. Everything about serving here, as a DH no less, was nothing short of exciting. I guess you could say I’m looking forward to everything, but most specifically the discoveries and hopefully becoming friends with the crew.”
T’Rea took a sip of the tea, and her eyes widened for a moment. “This is amazing! Is this a personal recipe?” She asked, just before taking another large sip.

OOC: Sorry for the delay!
Keitah smiled at T’Rea’s enthusiasm for the tea. “I’m glad you like it! It’s not exactly a personal recipe, but it’s a blend I discovered during one of our encounters with a unique alien culture. They shared their traditional tea-making techniques with us, and I’ve been replicating it ever since. I find it comforting during long journeys through space.”
“Well my thanks to the aliens!” T’Rea said with a chuckle. “Seriously though, they do have really good taste in tea.”
She nodded in understanding at T’Rea’s excitement about the opportunity to serve as a department head on this ship. “It’s a privilege to be part of this crew, and I’m sure you’ll fit right in. The discoveries here are always fascinating, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to contribute your expertise as the Chief Science Officer.”
“Looking forward to it!” she replied.
Keitah leaned back, taking a moment to glance around the ship’s lounge area. “You’ll find that the camaraderie among the crew is one of the best parts of serving here. We’re like a close-knit family, and you’ll make friends in no time. Each member brings something unique to the table, and that’s what makes our missions successful.”
She looked back at T’Rea, curious to learn more about her background. “So, T’Rea, what’s your area of expertise in the sciences? I’m always eager to hear about the diverse skills that our crew members bring to the table.”
Naisyr, Counselor
“I’ve always been best at biology. Microbiology and plant biology in particular. They always fascinated me as a child. When my parents caught me outside (usually punished me for playing outside instead of studying all day) they would find me playing with plants or a magnifying glass. I pretended I could see bacteria with it!” She chuckled a bit. Her childhood may not have been great but at least she seemed to still have good memories of it.
Lieutenant T’Rea (CSO)
Keitah smiled warmly at T’Rea’s story. “It sounds like your passion for biology has been with you from a young age. It’s wonderful that you’ve turned that passion into your area of expertise. Your skills will definitely be valuable on our missions, especially when we encounter new and unfamiliar alien ecosystems.”
T’Rea’s enthusiasm was contagious, and Keitah felt a sense of connection with the new Chief Science Officer. “I think your childhood experiences have prepared you well for this role. Exploring new worlds and understanding their unique flora and fauna is a remarkable way to channel that curiosity.”
Nodding towards the window overlooking the vast expanse of space, Keitah’s expression turned thoughtful. “In a way, our ship is like a magnifying glass, allowing us to examine the intricate details of the universe. It’s exciting to think about the discoveries that lie ahead, and you’ll be at the forefront of unraveling those mysteries. I have a feeling that your expertise will play a crucial role in our upcoming missions. And who knows, maybe you’ll even discover a new species or make groundbreaking scientific breakthroughs. I have no doubt that you’ll make an exceptional Chief Science Officer, T’Rea. Welcome to the team.”
Naisyr, Counselor
She nodded. “Thank you. That’s probably the first time I’ve had such an encouraging comment in years.” She said, unsure whether she was happy she received the comment or unhappy with the fact that she doesn’t receive it often.

Keitah noticed the hint of vulnerability in T’Rea’s response and with a gentle tone she said, “T’Rea, it’s essential to surround yourself with people who appreciate your talents and encourage your passions. In our crew, we value each other’s strengths and support one another. You won’t be lacking in encouraging comments here; you’re among friends. You’re part of a team that appreciates the unique qualities each member brings to the table. We’re like a family out here in the depths of space, and we look out for one another. Never hesitate to reach out if you ever need support or just someone to talk to.”
Naisyr,Counselor
“That’s good to hear. I’m glad to be part of such a crew then. And I won’t hesitate to reach out to talk, maybe I could finally get this burden off my shoulders.” T’Rea responded, glad there were still decent people in this universe. She thought she’d seen the last of them in the academy, but the crew of this ship seemed more like her colleagues and even professors had been at the academy. Supporting, full of love and compassion. This ship was more what she envisioned Starfleet being than any other ship she’d ever served on, and by a long shot at that.
Lieutenant T’Rea (CSO)
Keitah nodded with a thoughtful expression. “I’m glad to hear that you feel that way, T’Rea. It’s crucial for the crew to function smoothly and efficiently, and part of that is ensuring everyone’s well-being, both professionally and personally. Remember, it’s not a burden if you share it with the right people; we’re all here to help each other succeed.”
Keitah’s calm and steady demeanor mirrored her role as the ship’s counselor, and she continued, “If there’s something specific on your mind or any particular concerns, don’t hesitate to make an appointment with me. Our confidentiality is a top priority, and it’s always a good idea to address issues as they come up.”

“I will, thank you.” T’Rea replied. She took another sip of her tea. (OOC: her name is actually quite confusing that close to the word tea. lol) “You’re gonna have to help me program this into the replicators in my quarters, it is so good!” She said enthusiastically.
