Melanie then found herself into Engineering. Although, she’s not used to being in a different department. She’s someone who is used to being in one department and not in another one that she isn’t familiar with. Now as for her, she’s willing to learn something new everyday. Including engineering. Even though she’s not used to doing engineering, she’s good with her hands.

She then stood in front of her department heads door and rang the chime. Not knowingly knowing, that her department head wouldn’t be stern with her if she didn’t know what to do.

Mahjong was in the office and listening to his music while going over a complicated report and didn’t hear the chime at first. Once he noticed, he quickly shut the music off and yelled “Enter!” While standing up at attention thinking it would be the Commander coming to give him a lecture on being late to meetings.

Hall then walked into his office and said “Hello sir. I’m Lt. Hall. Your additional officer for engineering sir. I didn’t know you were busy. Am I interrupting?” She asked. As she stood at attention in his office.

“Not at all! And welcome Lieutenant Hall! I appreciate any and all help that I can get. See. I’m a former Marine and went back to school and switched branches to get to where I’m at. I’m very skilled but I don’t have all the experience one in my position would have at this point in time. So having someone with your rank and experience will greatly help all of us here. Please sit down and have some coffee or whatever it is that you would like and let’s talk.” He gestured for the chair.

“So what brought you to the Chimera?”

“Well sir. What brought me here was that I heard that the Chimera needed a very well skilled engineer to help their chief engineer understand what is done in engineering. I mean I’m not saying you don’t have that experience sir.” She said as she was sitting down. “With that being said I’m very happy to help whenever I’m needed and wherever I’m needed. Sir.” She added.

Muhjon let out a big laugh. “I’m not laughing at you Miss Hall. But that was good. I do need help. I need all the help I can get and so does this great ship of ours. Everyones lives depend on that. So I’m very glad that a very capable Engineer came to join us. I was a Marine for the first 15 years of my service. I was a combat engineer, but wanted to do other engineering duties and so I switched over to Starfleet, went to Engineering school for Star Ships and this is my second post as a Starfleet Officer. First at a Chief Engineer. So again, anything that you can help with, then please do and don’t be afraid to tell me if what I want to do or think that should be done is stupid. Just do it with tact is all I ask. Sound good?”
