Charlie and Alpha squads were on call, but IRIS had ordered all aviators to bed in prep for deployment the next day. The techs were still going over all the birds and Flight Deck was getting them all lined up and ready for rapid take off.

Siraa made her way up a couple of decks, back to Shinzo’s quarters. Something was going on with him. Oh she was mad, but more she was worried, deeply concerned for him. She stopped at his door and pressed the chime.

Shinzo was in his Marine sweats working out in his room doing push-ups and the like when he heard the chime. Getting up and grabbing a towel to wipe the sweat from his face he opened the door. Looking surprised. “Iris? Please come in. Can I get you anything to drink?”

Siraa stepped in and the door slid shut. “A cup of hot water would be wonderful. 90°C.” She strode across the room and sat down on the couch. She studied him acutely, her gaze assessing. She glanced at his hand. “How are you, Shinzo?”
