Captain John P. Jones entered the bridge, with all the excitement during his arrival no formal change of command had actually occurred. As he entered he observed the senior staff and Captain Sara Allen. He approached the group hoping he was not going to be interrupting anything. “Captain Allen, this is a fine ship that you have here, you have done her proud during your command. I wanted to mention if there is anything you would like to do prior to the official change of command please don’t hesitate.”

Captain Jones looked around the bridge, the consoles were cleaned, everything was spotless on the bridge. His eyes landed on the command chair. It was a both a honor and a curse to be given a command. He had two prior commands.... Both ended with the destruction of the ship he commanded. Star Fleet had not faulted him for either ship. They stated that there was no other possible outcome based on the circumstances which were unforeseeable. But they still haunted his thoughts. As his eyes swept across the officers in the room he wondered if this ship… and them would survive his command. He was brought out of his thoughts by a voice speaking to him.
