“Hmm, yes of course,” Koria said as she got distracted thinking of the different possibilities. It was something to think of though, maybe for some sort of less then lethal deterrent in the future. It would be exceedingly useful for installations.

Ella watched the chief engineer seemingly leave the room, in a metaphorical sense “Elas to Sutret” She said part teasing part hoping what she had said caused the chief engineer to have some kind of medical condition or memory relapse.

“Oh sorry,” she said shaking her head and refocusing on Ella. “I definitely understand the hesitantly, especially if you are trying to make a change in yourself. So let’s change the topic! How are you liking the Chimera so far?”

Grateful for the change in topic the young Elasian dived right in, “Oh well its amazing, the crew and the ship have been so accommodating. I was a little anxious at first being given the role as department head and kind of skipping jobs but everyone seems to be more than happy to help me” She smiled, “I mean you’re a perfect example of that letting me intrude on your territory, almost get squashed and you still want to get to know me. Its really nice.”

Koria laughed. “It is one of the hazards of a ship this large, this is probably the largest engineering staff I’ve handled during my time in Starfleet. Always so much going on. So it’s a nice change to take a second to breathe every now and then, and meet some of the new people to the ship.”

As Koria was talking, something stuck in her head about what Ella had said. “Wait, what did you mean by skipping jobs?”

Ella blushed, “I’ve never been the assistant chief I thought I was coming here to be just that but had the photon shell dropped on me that I was going to be filling the Chief’s boots so yeah, I’m a little in over my head but I think I’m doing alright, nobody turned up missing yet or tried to blow me out a torpedo tube” She chuckled, “Its a lot to take in and I’m trying my best.” She added thinking to her first departmental brief in which she was the youngest thier.

“Oh I wouldn’t go with a torpedo tube, it leaves to much evidence,” Koria said nonchalantly as she stood up and walked over to the small replicator in her office. “Would you like something to drink?”

Ella chuckled, she guessed being blown out of a tube was a bit messy given she’d be floating around in space. “Sure, I’ll just have an apple juice please with some ice.” She fancied something bittersweet a good apple juice was just that, as well as one of your five a day just because she a chemical gene that made her naturally beautiful didn’t mean she could skip on her fruit and veg. “So just how would you do?” She asked jokingly, but also curious as an investigator it always paid to hear how people think.

“One apple juice with ice, and a sparkling water,” Alison said to the replicator. Removing the drinks she handed the juice to Ella.

“The transporter,” she said matter of factly, stopping for a second to take a sip of her water. “Zero residue, and no left over body once you are done. And if you get the transporter into a test cycle, and it can complete it, it will purge all of the data the buffer as well at the completion of the test.

“As an alternative, the plasma stream. It takes a bit longer, but given enough time it sill full destroy the body. Not as clean, and there are more safeguards to override,” Alison said with a shrug.

“The torpedo tube is just overly dramatic.”
