Lardel made his way through the Marine barracks and went straight to the newly arrived Ground Force CO’s office. He pressed the chime and waited.

He wasn’t nervous, quite the contrary. He simply knew what it was like being newly arrived and having to jump right in.

The Colonel was at his desk and bellowed out “Come in!” The only thing in the office was a computer, coffee maker, Marine Flag and the Colonel. Nothing else but the sweet, sweet aroma of coffee brewing. Jon looked up and noticed the officer from the files he was given. It wasn’t hard since there really wasn’t another Major on board or a Zakdorn for that matter. “Ah! Major Lardel is it? Do come in. I am Lt. Colonel Muhjon Vamuhn. Most people call me Jon. Take your pick.” Turning around he poured two cups of coffee and turned back around setting one on the other end of the desk for the Major and one for himself. “I was just about to send you a message to set up a meeting with you. I’ve only been in this office for 20 minutes so everything is warming up so they say. What can I do you for Major? Please sit.”

“Sir.” Lardel said and took a seat. “I wanted to stop by and introduce myself. Figured since we were going to be working together, we may as well get acquainted. How was your trip to the Chimera?”
