Posted by… suppressed (1) by the Post Ghost! 👻Having completed the rest of his check-ins, D’vash made his way to the counselors office. Lt. Edman was another recent addition to the Atlantis’ crew and he looked forward to meeting her. He had gone over her personnel file (as an intel officer should) and had discovered they had something in common: their Nordic heritage, though D’vash’s was a bit diluted with Orion blood.
The CIO had no problem finding the counseling suites located on the port side of Deck 11. His previous ship had been the USS Olympic, also a Mythology class.
He stepped into the main reception area and checked with receptionist. The ensign behind the desk looked up and smiled. “Good afternoon, Commander. How can I help you?”
“I’m here for my check -in with Lt. Edman. 1400 hours. Cmdr. Odinson.”
“Thank you, sir. You’re all checked in. I’ll let the lieutenant know you’re here.” She commed the counselor’s office and informed her of the new arrival. “She’ll be with you in just a moment, Commander.”
“Thank you,” D’vash replied. He stepped away from the desk and waited patiently, admiring the artwork displayed on the walls. . . .

Revna answered the comm and then got to her feet. She’d reviewed D’vash Odinson’s file and was unsurprised to find he had Nordic heratige. She walked over to door. “Cmdr. Odinson, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Come in.” Revna walked back into her office. Upon entering the office it was very subdued. The harsh grays and blues that came standard were replaced by earth tones of browns, bronzes, greens, yellows, oranges, and deep reds. There were several areas to sit, couches, chairs, floor pillows. There didn’t appear to be a desk anywhere. The shelves were filled with pieces of art and memorabilia that honored her heritage. The pictures were a mix of landscapes and abstracts, carefully placed around the room so as not to clash with each other. The shelves also included an array of different objects, from singing bowls, to art supplies, to mandalas. There was also a computer interface to allow patients to choose the background noise of their choice.
“Please have a seat Cmdr. I’m Lt. Revna Edman. Would you like a drink?”
Lt. Edman, Counselor
D’vash followed her into the office and replied to her inquiry. “Yes, I would, as a matter of fact. Grape Kool-aid, please. It’s already been programmed into the ship’s replicators.”
Revna nodded and requested 2 glasses. She walked back over and handed him a glass. “I haven’t had this since I was a kid. I hope you don’t mind if I join you.” She raised her glass slightly in salute, “Skol, brother.” A Nordic greeting for good health, and she took a sip of her drink. Revna choose her favorite chair and sat down.
“Skol,” he said in return. “You’re a true Norwegian, aren’t you? I don’t think I’ve heard that phrase since. . . . . I don’t know when.”
Revna nodded, “I was born and raised on Bømlo.” She smiled, “Well you should hear it more often now. My sister and I are both on board and we are very,” she grinned, “loud about our heritage.”
In a gentlemanly manner, he waited until she returned with the drink and waited until Revna took a seat. His eyes, gazing around the room were taking in every detail. “The paintings? Are they yours?” His gaze returned to her face as she answered.

Revna shook her head without turning to look at them. “No, I sketch some, but I have no talent for it. Certainly not painting. I just really liked them.” She took another sip of her drink. “Do you paint or just enjoy looking?”
Lt. Edman
He chuckled at her question. “Strictly an observer. My artistic abilities go about as far as stick men and lollipop trees.” He spotted one particular painting of an area of mountains and moved in too get a closer look. Pulling away, he moved over and took a seat on one of the couches.
“That painting there, the one I was just looking at, looks very familiar. You wouldn’t happen to know if that’s Varingskollen Resort, would you?”
OOC: Just making an edit.
Odinson (CIO)
“Yes actually it is Varingskollen. I purchased the painting when I visited there with my family when I was…oh about 14. The mountain is…well there is nothing quite like it. It can make you believe in the Ice Giants that Thor and Odin fought off,” Revna chuckles.
“This is quite the coincidence. What do you think the odds are that we met at that time? That chalet,” he said pointing at the picture, “is owned by my grandparents and I grew up there. If you were 14, that had to put me at about. . . 7 or 8? Don’t worry, I’ll keep your age a secret. Us intel people are good with secrets.”
He got comfortable on the couch. “What questions can I answer for you?”
“Tell me Cmdr. you’ve only recently arrived on board just shortly before me. Any advice for another new officer?”
Lt. Edman, Counselor
OOC: Look what you made me do. I had to edit a mistake, too. Inconceivable!
OOC: I do no’ think it means what you think it means!!
D’vash rubbed the ever-present stubble on his chin and considered her question.
“As the ship’s counselor, people will come to you and tell you that they are broken. Let them know that nothing is completely broken. For example, even a broken clock is right twice a day.”
