Olly had seen the British jump ship only just managing to stay on his feet, knowing full well Runa had the ship under control he pulled his cutlass and pistol charging the redcoats. “Have this lobster backs!” He fired his pistol downing the first soldier and bringing his cutlass up deflected a blow, and another from two more who advanced on him. Twisting around his pirates uniform billowing around him like smoke he moved gracefully between the fight, ducking and diving as cannon fired and guns shot causing a cloud of heavy smoke to shroud the deck of all ships involved. “Anne!” He shouted after about five minutes of fierce fighting having lost sight of the Nordic beauty.

Runa got distracted watching Oliver move across the ship. “Blessed Freya, that man was born in the wrong century,” she said to no one at all. The last cannon blast rocking the ship brought her back to the program, and she heard Oliver’s shout. “Keep your hat on Jack! I’m still here!” Her laughter rang out above the noise. “Heave Lads!” She came across the brow of the English ship and then with oars and sails had the ship turn swiftly side ramming the other ships starboard side, trapping the cannon doors shut. “Move lads! Show no mercy!” Her hat had disappeared some time when the ship rocked hard to one side and now her hair was flying in a bronze halo around her head. She caught sight of Oliver moving with the rest to the British ship. She gave me a salute and drew the cutlass and moved to the hatch. “Get ready lads, cannons loaded and oars ready to push off. Will send her to be with her sister in Davy Jones’ Locker.” Runa was having far too much fun, and just in time heard the British soldier who had swung across come up behind her trying to get to the wheel. “Stay away from my ship!” She turned using the cutlass to block the sword’s downward slash. Oh I’m not good at this part.... she dodged out of the way and tried to get back to the wheel.
Runa Edman, TeacherHaving watched her fight off some British sailors he began making his way back up the ship towards her. Jumping over bodies and overturned barrels Olly was enjoying every minute of the simulation until at least a cannonball exploded into the deck sending him and several large chunks overboard and into the ice-cold sea. “Aaaaanne!” Was all he could shout as he plunged under the taste of salt overpowering in his mouth, around him cannon, body, and bits of ship sunk further down into the deep.

Runa watched as Oliver fell overboard, and forgot momentarily this was just a simulation. She toed off her boots and tossed the heavy coat aside and dove in. Runa had been swimming in the ocean her whole life, but with the pieces of ship and cannon fire it was hard to see. She broke the surface and looked around, “Oliver!” What were the safety protocols on these things? “Anne! Jack, Jack went down, over there!” Another sailor shouted at her. Jack? Oh…right. Runa dove under the water again looking for Oliver. She spotted him and swam towards him. She grabbed his hand and pointed up. Breaking the surface again, she took a deep breath. “Oliver, are you alright?” Her adrenaline was running high. She looked around, there was a rope hanging down from the Kingston. “Over there.”
Runa Edman
The simulation obviously didn’t detect Oliver wasn’t in immediate danger, though he did appreciate the help from Runa. She was like a Siren the way she gracefully swam through the water and subsequently rescuing him. Together they swam towards the rope the sounds of battle had already started to dwindle. “Thankyou” He said his teeth chattering for the cold ocean as they finally reached the rope, Olly offered Runa the chance to climb up first.

Runa started up the rope ladder. She reached up over the railing and suddenly disappeared.
“Ooof.” She’d been thrown to the decking as she got back on board the Kingston by a very angry looking redcoat with lots of tassles and baublry on his jacket. Two more of the redcoats picked her up by the arms. “Oh, so the game isn’t over yet, is it?” Runa asked as they marched her back towards the center of the ship. Her clothes were dripping wet and she didn’t really know anything about fighting, pirates or anything else. Unless it was a toddler with a temper tantrum.
Olly had made it half way up the rope when to his left one of the port holes opened and hands grabbed him through, their index fingers over their mouths implying silence. So he did just that and began to listen to the commotion that was going on above them.
The British captain sneered, “Oh the game is over Annie. You’re going to call out for Jack. Your face will be the last he sees.” Runa wanted to laugh because it was SOOO dramatic, but the sword tip pointing at her wasn’t that funny. She didn’t know about Anne Bonnie, but she knew what her ancestors would think of the captain’s command. “No.” was all she said. The look of anger on the captain’s face was so realistic. She really needed to use the holodeck more.
The Redcoat Cpt spat on the deck of the ship. “JACK! We’ve got Anne! Unless you want me to damage every hair on her head, you need to come up here!”
Runa Edman“Damn” He said cursing as silently as possible. They hadn’t seen him climb the rope, no had the known that he and about five of his crew where hiding under the decks. “Do we have some barrels of TNT left? He asked the group.
“One sir” replied the skinniest of the group and his boney fingers rapped the top of the barrel.
He smiled and began taking of his boots. “Take of ya socks, fill them with powder and plant them around the ship we need to create a distraction. Putting his hand into the barrel he poured the powder into his sock, pausing when he noticed the shipmates starring at him.” Hurry up we haven’t got all day!” That seemed to get them going.
After a few minutes they had all filled their socks with powder and planted them with a long fuse system. Olly didn’t even bother saying anything as he lit the fuse and made his way to the top deck. “All that shouting!” He was immediately jabbed sending him to the floor next to Runa. “That was uncalled for.” If he had worked out the fuse length right he had about 3 minutes to get Anne from this ship to the British one.

Runa was watching and listening. There was a whole other deck below her, and she didn’t see any of the redcoats watching the stairs. So either they didn’t know or they had already gotten everyone else. Where was Oliver? He’d been right behind her. She saw a few of the pirate sailors moving silently over to the other ship. While she was trying to figure out what to do next, Oliver came up from below deck, despite being soaked from head to toe, she couldn’t help noticing how good looking he was. His demeanor, was so flippant with the Redcoat Captain she did laugh. That earned her a jab in the back, landing her on her knees next to Oliver. She whispered, “What now, Jack? I can sail a ship, but without a crew and steering wheel, I can’t do much.”
Runa Edman
“Well the good Captain here surrenders or we all die” He shrugged looking to Runa and then to the captain, “What do you say Capi-tan, you surrender to me and my crew or we all die and to be honest I think me and Anne here will survive we have a knack for that!” He elbowed Runa as if to say watch this.
