Oliver still enjoying the new ship vibe everything and everyone was giving off finally made it to the science decks and more prominently the science offices of the ship, stepping into the room he looked around taking a deep breath in. ‘Home’ he thought rubbing his weathered hands together in search of the chief science officer a one Lieutenant Junior Grade Kai Oliver Kingstone, a twenty-five-year-old Human born on mars to two retired Starfleet personnel, one previous assignment to the USS Endeavour and a pet golden retriever called Rylee. To say Olly had friends in high places was an understatement.

Kai was actually getting a look to the personnel PaDD when he noticed the man in the office, quietly looking everywhere. From what he could see, the man had a name of Oliver (so funny) and was actually older than him, which felt kinda awkward. Just a couple of minutes ago his ID generalities were already scanned by the intrepid Officer “Can I help, Ensign or you are here, as I suppose, for your check-in?” He smiled at Oliver “Please get a seat! Oh and please avoid touching that box if you may. You would not want to clean the Lab from floor to ceiling!” he indicated the goo.

“Now I have to touch it” joked Oliver at the quick introduction to his new boss before taking a seat opposite him. “I guess you can help by getting my old bones acquainted to my new home and workplace, I’ve heard good things about you, Lieutenant. I won’t get into too many details about how I know or what I know but your work into Subspace alternative Light-Transmitted message via experimental relè was a particularly enjoyable read. I think you and me are going to have some fun. Sir.” Oliver wasn’t your A typical ensign, he was older more experience and far less likely to explode at the first sign of travel, being so relaxed was both a good point and a bad point, it wasn’t that he lacked discipline and respect for his chain of command it was just that he was far to used to it and to old to care.
