“Well… he already has a prototype and it’s 90% just shrinking technology… so yeah. Why couldn’t we? I mean you picked a poor bet, this is like claiming I couldn’t fix your space bar if you popped it off your keyboard, again. We both know I could get that back on in five seconds flat as you go scrambling for a user manual. I won’t hold you to this bet though, that’s unfair and I love you… a lot, I mean I married you for Christ sake.” he winked at her and thought for a moment.

“And you divorced me too. If you really love me you will get me one of those custom t-shirts that say “I’m his Ex-Mrs. Ian Bordeaux but he is silly enough to try again,” she said with a smile. Thier little foray into marriage, albeit fast and furious, had made Kelly think long and hard about what she wanted from him. FInding out she was Mrs. Ian Bordeaux was shocking but it was felt right. “But you work hard enough to get two promotions. One for the work you do on the record and one for all the work you do off the record making me look good.”

Those words made Ian squirm, divorced her. His friend had talked him through everything but he still wasn’t feeling certain. He tried to not let the words throw him off, he knew she didn’t mean anything by it but he couldn’t help but feel like the idea was one he could never get used to. To find the love of your life, marry her even if by accident then have it all washed away. The idea ate himself up inside many nights.

They had gotten past the butterflies in the tummy phase standing this close to each other. It was that easy comfortable feeling where your libido didn’t go into overdrive and the urge to lay your head on his chest kicked in. “You know if this doesn’t work it will be the first time you have not delivered something you promised. I think that is laying more on the line that a couple of metal buttons for your collar.”

“Oh sweetie, I always deliver.” he said with a small wink, finding it amusing how she thought he couldn’t get things done.

“I’ll tell you what, if it doesn’t work I will buy your own presses and get hydroponics working on plan B. Fresh brew every morning, okay?” he said as he moved over and pulled her close, kissing her softly as he pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

“God did they teach you to say such nice things in diplomatic school or were you always such a sweet talker,” Kelly adjusted her arms around his back and looked up at him. Whether or not the transpoting coffee pot ever worked out remained to be seen. Kelly just liked that her crew embraced the unexpected and went for it.

“Well I do aim to please Kel.” he said, giving her a soft kiss he kept her tight in his arms, letting to her body heat spread over his as he enjoyed the simplicity of just having her close and in his arms.

“Yes, you and. And you make me smile, laugh, cry....but in a good way like when you get me laughing so I hard,” Kelly stopped talking. She didn’t need to say anything more. Right now she was happy. She had a ship with a great crew. She was at the height of her career. She had a man that loved her. Soon she would have instant coffee the second she wanted it. Life was good.

“Exactly, but… this means you… need to get out of here.” Ian said, with a devlish smile. “Jacen and I can’t work if you are in here now can we? Now scat, he will be by in thirty minutes and I am going to make this amazing for you… well mostly Jacen but it’s like that old Earth commercial, “It’s shake n bake and I helped.” Ian said as he leaned in giving her a kiss.
