John-King had convinced the Lounge Manager to help bring a bit of fun into the lives of those living and working on the Atlantis.

He had found a pair of bynars who played the piano; each one played a different piano at the same time but due to the nature of their connection, their minds allowed them to make sure they were playing in time and in perfect harmony with the other one. Their memories were such that they had knowledge of virtually every song written across cultures, with the exception of the Breen and some of the species of the Delta Quadrant discovered by Janeway and the Discovery.

And so, here he was dressed in the fancy clothes that one might associate with a 19th Century French Mayor, a microphone in hand, next to him, dressed in the uniform of a French policeman from the same time period was the Lounge Manager, who John-King had convinced to take on the other role in these scene. As was the case with John-King the Lounge Manager was holding a microphone. In front of them, the words they’d be singing was on an electronic teleprompter device. The bynars at the keys were playing a gentle medley until the appointed time and staff that weren’t part of the entertainment were serving drinks to all that were already here.

“I have a terrible voice,” the lounge manager said to John-King, with the microphone away from his mouth.

“Don’t worry, the microphones have an auto tuner in them that ensures you’ll sing your part better than Russell Crowe,” John-King replied, “I had to think of the ears of our crewmates, it wouldn’t do if the Captain’s eardrums burst because of your ‘singing’, would it? Honestly, you’ll be fine. Just breathe and sing and enjoy yourself.”

Both Starfleet and Civilian members of the crew began to arrive, and when the appointed time arrived they began their song.
