Posted by Captain Kelly Shultz (Commanding Officer) in Main Sim - Planet Posted by… suppressed (11) by the Post Ghost! 👻 SNIP : : Reaching the surface Kelly took a tentative breath. She always did when transporting to a planet for the first time. Looking around, Kelly took in the landscape. It contained the regular rocks, plants, and trees but also an iridescent glow. It seemed to cover everything like a fine dust, however, there were concentrated amounts of the stuff off to the right of the away team as if it were stones on a path. : : Captain Kelly Shultz Mere seconds after rematerializing on the surface, Ashlynn had her tricorder out and was scanning the area for this being that she seemed to have a connection with. She looked at the iridescent glow and began walking towards it with her tricorder out and using the sense that she had gotten from the meld to guide her if that were possible. Summers (med)
Memphis bit off a string of curses as the silly doctor just started walking off. There was a twitch of his rifle as if he had considered stunning her in the back as he Stepped over and in her way.“Miss Summers, at least let me secure the area before you wonder off to DIE!” Memphis stated over the external comm.
Ashlynn heard the Memphis but was lost in her thoughts as she tried to orient herself to where she was. She was looking for landmarks that she had seen in the mind meld. She did stop briefly and looked around while she waited for security to secure the area.
Kelly worked hard to stifle the laugh wanting to erupt from her lips. It was not so long ago she was a security officer and then later a chief of security. Scientist were the worst people to take on field trips, as they called it back on the USS Fox when they had to take crew on away missions. Medical were a close second. Only the engineers seemed to stay put but maybe that was because the engineers were in charge of a console which tended to not move about.
Phil immediately began scanning the surface and the immediate area around them with both his eyes and his TED - the aim of his rifle following his gaze. Instinctively he was looking for both civillians, hostiles, cover and escape routes from their current location…

“Any sign of the crew,” Kelly asked outloud. Memphis and Mardusk were in control of security. She was only there to deal with the Captain of the Trenton and deal with any messy prime directive issues with the local inhabitants if there were any.

Summers (med)Bailey watched with a look of mild horror as Ash wandered off. She shook her head unsure if she should follow or stay put. This was one of the first away team missions she had been on out of training and as that thought and the fear of the potential unknown registered she clutched her medical kit strap tighter and eyed a suspicion looking rock to the left of her boot. She side stepped away from it closer to the big security bloke.
Lt, Bailey
NursePhil could here the unmistakeable sound of marine boots moving behind him. He glanced around to see a couple of NE Marines breaking formation to ensure that Ash was covered. NE Jock stepped cautiously towards her before speaking in his strong Scottish accent.
“Now Den, Missy, Ah knows das eager to do yas job, but if yas can let us do ahs too,” he said hushed, but warmly, “We jus’ wanna keep yas safe an’ in one piece.”
-NE Jock
Ashlynn looked at Jock for a moment “You’ll understand once we find it.” She said as she looked around, scanning for a container that she had seen.“Ah understand already,” Jock replied, “Tha’s why Ah wants yas ta be in one piece when ya finds it.”
Memphis nodded to Phillip, as he began issuing orders. To the marines to secure the area, “Sarge you got close detail for now, pick two to keep with you.” Memphis stated giving Phillip the fun of sticking with the Doctors, and others for the moment. Memphis looked about, and sighed, look like less fun that he wanted it to be. Nothing to be done but the work that they had come here for.
=^= Set Perimeter Floating, 75 Meters. Deploy the drones, give me full 360 coverage. =^= Memphis passed over the Marine Command Channel. Then it dawned on him that he was not integrated with the Chief of Security at the moment.
Jock moved on to setup the perimeter.
Turning towards Gavel, “We are on Channel Epsilon, and the Feed is available through the Tac Channel.”

Summers (med)Mardusk nodded and made the adjustment to his comms. “Security detail on comms. I’ll watch the Skipper, designate as Alpha 1. I’ll monitor all comms, but stay outta your boys’ way unless you need backup. How copy?”
Mardusk, CoS
“Aye Sir,” Phil said as the marines began following their instructions and setting a perimeter. He headed to Summers.
“Something you want to share?” he asked.
-Phil
“Stay with the Skipper,” Kelly said overhearing the conversation. “Tell me is it because you want to guard my six right or watch it. There is a difference.” Kelly’s comment had a hint of crassness to it knowing it could be taken several ways but she was also with a group of trained men that could snap your neck as fast as a Jedi could levitate and toss a droid. Men like those in her group were not the type to go to knitting circles and sip tea with a pinky raised. They were a hard working hard playing group. Some might take it as a one way trip to sensitivity training. Others a cocky arrogance that Kelly didn’t need help. That was the beauty of a well-placed innuendo. There was always room for deniability or to take credit for an unexpected outcome.
Mardusk’s face didn’t change expression as he scanned the area visually and took up position slightly behind the CO. “You go ahead and take it however you need to to get to sleep at night, Skipper. I’ll just be here making sure your six gets back to the ship in one piece.”
With Summervale deploying the drones and Mardusk keeping an eye on the party, Kelly decided to move ahead. The ship had given them coordinates as to where the most likely location of the Trenton’s crew were. To her, it seemed the logical place to head. “Summers take your readings as we move forward. Summervale are we copasetic to begin moving to the last known coordinates?” Kelly was in charge but she also knew who was running the mission. There was a huge difference in her mind. She might want to move forward but until she got the clear that he and Mardusk were ready, Kelly would wait.
Captain Kelly Shultz.
OCC: Okay sent another email to Kevin and until he returns we will move forward like before. This means that if you want to add a surprise go for it. Kevin said he would work with what we give him and as long as we are all okay with making a few tweaks if necessary I say we start our bug hunt. ~ Kate

Ashlynn nodded at the Captain and continued her scans. She was trying to use landmarks that she had seen in the mindmeld that she had completed before coming down to the surface. She felt drawn to one specific area and headed towards that area keeping the rest of the group in sight.
Summers (med)
Luckily he was off comms, and his helmet was closed, so other than muffled sounds no one heard the string of inventive colorful phrases about parentage and general intelligence Memphis made. Keying the comms =^= those drones damn well better be deployed, cause we are moving out.=^= Memphis growled out on the tactical channel. His displeasure was obvious. His rifle bobbed up his finger moved but he did not fire it and it was off what ever he targeted just as smoothly. Brig time meant a nap at least he considered.
