The graveyard shift had a certain appeal to it Ryley thought as he strode through the generally empty bay and rummaged for an instrument in a cabinet. He pressed drawers open and closed humming to himself as his tool eluded him. Finally finding it he bounced its weight in the palm of his hand a few moments and surveyed sickbay. The NE who had come in an hour ago with the nasty cough and fever was sleeping as his treatment took effect and would be ready to be booted in another hour or so, the young girl who had taken a spill with her parents, whacked her head and was being observed was also asleep with her father sitting nearby. That was it…boring.
He turned and limped back towards his office and his experiment.
Ooc: anyone wanna late night sickbay visit?
Ryley
MDOOC: You know you’re going to regret that offer? :)
IC: The walk to sickbay seemed to take forever after her accident but determined to put on a brave face, M’Lene gritted her teeth and avoided eye contact with anyone as she was a little embarrassed that a feline who is supposed to always land on her feet had failed miserably to avoid injury. As she turned the corner she was feeling pretty weak from shock and the pain in her arm was becoming unbearable. After what felt like an eternity she reached the doors to sickbay and breathed a sigh of relief as they slid open.
With her fur matted with tears and still cradling her arm she took a few steps into sickbay and spotted Ryley. Normally she would have been thrilled to indulge in a bit of banter with him but her normal mischievous self was just not up to it at the moment. “I think I might need some help…” she muttered as her body gave out from the exhaustion of trying to keep it together and she collapsed to her knees in the middle of sickbay, crying in pain as it sent a shockwave through her arm.

Ooc: Lol always fun this way ;)
IC: Ryley paused as the doors slid open and watched the furry form of the CSO enter the bay. A slight frown wrinkled his forehead as he took in the sight of her and the way she held her arm. The stiffness in her posture was a distinct difference to the easy grace Ryley had observed her walking around the ship with on other occasions since that eventful first meeting. He pocketed his find from earlier and started in her direction. He was a few strides away from her when she went down to her knees, lifting the cane off the floor he made up the distance quickly and dropped it as he knelt to offer her support. “Whoa easy there Kitty Kat…” He said and looked at the arm she was cradling.
After a quick appraisal he looked at her. “Lets get you to a bed and take care of that. Can you stand?” He asked his normally gruff tone seeming to soften slightly.
Ryley
MDM’Lene sniffed and nodded slowly, “I think so…” she replied quietly, surprised at the change in demeanour from their last encounter. She leant on him for support with her good arm as she carefully rose to her feet. A wave of nausea and dizziness hit her as she stood, her body exhausted from the agonising walk from the holodeck. She swayed and held on tightly to Ryley’s arm as she tried to stay conscious. “I don’t feel so good doc…” she muttered as her vision started to blur. As she concentrated on keeping her lunch down, for the briefest of seconds she forgot about her arm and let it drop to her side. As she did so, a sickening crack echoed through sickbay as something gave way in her shattered arm and she jumped and yelped in pain as it felt like someone had stabbed her with a red hot poker.

Ryley steadied her with both hands and half supported half dragged her towards the nearest bio bed. As the arm dropped then cracked he grimaced at the sound but stopped and kept hold of her as her body reacted to the pain.
“Ok. That was a bad noise. Bad noise aside the beds right there, get to it and I’ll make the pain stop. Hear me, now move.” He said gruffly and again half supported, half dragged her the last few steps and helped her lie down in the bed.
M’Lene briefly contemplated answering back but she didn’t have the energy. The sooner she got to the bed the sooner she got the drugs so she gritted her teeth for the last few steps and gingerly led back on the bed.
Quickly he grabbed a hypo spray and slotted a bright green vial into it. Holding it up to the light he set the dose as high as safely he could and brought the device to her neck. It released a pain killer and anti nausea mix in a long low hiss.
As she felt the medication quickly work it’s way round her body she breathed a sigh of relief as the pain eased off. “Woah…glad you broke out the good stuff…must be bad…” she muttered as she spaced out a bit and a mellow grin crept onto her face.
Quickly he checked her vitals on the bio bed readouts then pulled his tricorder out and began scanning the limb. “Still with me ?” He asked without looking up from his readouts.
Ooc: readouts and other fun details? :p

M’Lene was a little out of it but nodded slowly and grinned. “Yep…still here…” she murmured. “My arm feels kind of weird though…” she added as she poked at the fingers on her hand which had gone completely numb.
The read outs showed that her blood pressure and pulse rate had gone through the roof although were coming down since the medication had taken effect. Her arm was badly broken in several places with a couple of free floating splinters off the bone. The most urgent issue was a dislocated elbow which was currently pressing on the nerves and blood supply, cutting off the feeling and circulation to her hand, without prompt action the damage could be permanent.
