The graveyard shift had a certain appeal to it Ryley thought as he strode through the generally empty bay and rummaged for an instrument in a cabinet. He pressed drawers open and closed humming to himself as his tool eluded him. Finally finding it he bounced its weight in the palm of his hand a few moments and surveyed sickbay.

The NE who had come in an hour ago with the nasty cough and fever was sleeping as his treatment took effect and would be ready to be booted in another hour or so, the young girl who had taken a spill with her parents, whacked her head and was being observed was also asleep with her father sitting nearby. That was it…boring.

He turned and limped back towards his office and his experiment.

OOC: You know you’re going to regret that offer? :)

IC: The walk to sickbay seemed to take forever after her accident but determined to put on a brave face, M’Lene gritted her teeth and avoided eye contact with anyone as she was a little embarrassed that a feline who is supposed to always land on her feet had failed miserably to avoid injury. As she turned the corner she was feeling pretty weak from shock and the pain in her arm was becoming unbearable. After what felt like an eternity she reached the doors to sickbay and breathed a sigh of relief as they slid open.

With her fur matted with tears and still cradling her arm she took a few steps into sickbay and spotted Ryley. Normally she would have been thrilled to indulge in a bit of banter with him but her normal mischievous self was just not up to it at the moment. “I think I might need some help…” she muttered as her body gave out from the exhaustion of trying to keep it together and she collapsed to her knees in the middle of sickbay, crying in pain as it sent a shockwave through her arm.
