Relann drew in a breath and let it fill up her lungs slightly. His revelation was certainly not expected and she had to admit it was hard to hear. Her violet eyes held a sadness as she looked at him, but she forced herself into a genuine smile. “I know. I can say I share a similar feeling, my friend. But this opportunity on the Quinn sounds like a really good thing for you.” She set her wine down and leaned towards him slightly. “I’ll miss you too. You’re a dear friend Tyler. But I know it’s been hard t times for you, especially after you returned. I want you to be happy and if this is going to help you, then I want nothing but good things to come from it.”

Tyler smiled, laughed and cried all at the same time. It was good to hear his friend being so supportive. He gave her a nod, wiping his eyes again. “I think being around my sister is going to be invaluable to me. She can help me fill in some of the gaps.” He chuckled, being able to make humor out of his condition.

Relann nodded and gave him a small smile.

Finishing off his wine, he stood. “Well no time like the present. I should probably see if I can contact my sister and tell her my decision.” He smiled at her again. “Thank you again for everything Relann. I won’t forget you.”

Rising to her feet and mindful of her hands, She gave Tyler a firm hug. “You know where to find me if you need anything,” Relann said as she pulled back.

Watching her friend go, she felt a deep sadness that was bittersweet. Tyler needed to find his own way and his path was diverging. She could only hope it made a positive difference. Closing her eyes, she said a quick prayer to the Spirits on his behalf.
