River didn’t know what she was doing this. Well she knew why, the captain had requested it. But she didn’t see the point River knew what she was feeling. Anger, frustration and annoyance. She had done her duty once again and once again Star fleet had tried to shaft her. Sure she had won her trial and got a promotion but still the point and the principle stood.

It was another time River found herself wondering why she was doing what she was. She could just accept the offers from the Klingons or the Romulans and actual maybe get somewhere. She knew she would certainly not be put on trail every time she tried to so her job. It hadn’t helped that she had barely enough time to morn her own loses and give them a proper burial.

River shook her head sighed trying to bury the thoughts. She just wanted to get this over with and get on with her job. Taking one more deep breath she reached out and pressed thew chime to the CNS’s office.

Cara got up from her desk and walked over to the door and opened. “Cap’n Styxx. Please come in.” Immediately to the left of the door was a desk. A variety of places to sit and low tables dotted the rest of the open area. The right wall was taken up with a wall to wall, floor to ceiling storage until. Books, various pieces of art, and nick knacks covered the shelves. “Help yerself te the replicator and have a seat.” O’Farrell grabbed a glass of tea off her desk and had a seat in one of the chairs.
