=^= Bridge, Engineering. Do we have external communications. I am speaking with a Narvhalarian delegation here. Lothrel, their speaker, would like to speak with their Council. Are we repaired sufficiently to do this?=^= There was a pause =^= Additionally, Lothrel offers assistance in repairs. Please begin coordinating engineering teams to work with theirs. =^=

Kaden was still in the science lab trying to do some experiments when he head the request for engineering. He then tapped on the comm on the station he was at and responded =/\=Engineering here. I do not see why we would not have external communications unless the material is causing it not to work. I requested to have someone speak to the Narvhalarian to see if they had any advice on how to counteract the material from effecting our systems.=/\= He then started to pull up engineering on the station he was at to see if he could see if external communication was working or not. He had not seen anything to indicate it was not working but was not sure if it was working or not.

=^=Bridge here, the XO is currently in discussions with a Narvahalrian delegation. Engineering is in the process of setting up an external communication link to their planet, which should provide answers to the questions we’ve all been asking. It might be beneficial for you to rendezvous with the XO on Deck 29.=^=

Not long after .. =^= As luck would have it I am speaking with a Narvhalarian delegation now on Deck 29. I suggest at least one of you come and join us to provide your expertise. =^=

Not long after .. =^= Jen to Bridge. We are at the forward Deflector Control. Our Narvhalarians visitors have offered to assist us and the Romulan vessel in our repairs and provide us a technological fix that we may better navigate in the spatial conditions in their system. They have also indicated their desire to be left on their own until they are so ready to step out beyond their system and become part of the interstellar community. I have indicated that we recognize their choices and will abide by them, and the the United Federation of Planets will be happy to receive their friendship when they are so ready. I asked whether we might leave with them a subspace transmitter for them to keep in which they may use to communicate with us when they are ready or if in need. We are at deflector control that they may transmit a message to their world to see whether they are amenable to this. =^=

The transmission ended, and the bridge officers exchanged glances.

“Looks like things are moving quickly down there,” Lieutenant Kalis remarked as he rose from his station. The Trill officer ran a hand through his short hair, his expression thoughtful. “If the Narvhalarians can provide a fix for these spatial anomalies, it could save us days of troubleshooting.”

Ensign Rathos, who had been monitoring long-range sensors, chimed in with a low chuckle. “Yeah, and if their tech is anything like their ships, we’re probably looking at some mind-bending stuff. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how their vessel is… alive.”

Lieutenant Commander Varon, who had been overseeing the bridge in the captain’s absence, shot them both a look. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The Narvhalarians are helping, but we need to stay cautious. Their tech is advanced—possibly beyond our understanding. We’ll need to learn fast.”

Kalis nodded, already collecting his tools for the rendezvous on Deck 29. “Agreed. I’ll keep an open mind but stay on alert. The XO’s got things under control, but we don’t know what other surprises could come up.”

Varon gave him a brief nod of approval. “Good. Be quick about it—no time to waste. And keep a line open with the bridge. If anything feels off, I want to know immediately.”

As Kalis and Rathos moved toward the turbolift, the rest of the bridge crew resumed their tasks, though there was an undeniable buzz of anticipation in the air. Ensign Chao, manning the communications console, whispered to her colleague at tactical, “First contact like this… It’s crazy how casual they sound about it. I’d be shaking in my boots.”

The tactical officer, Ensign Mori, smiled wryly. “We’ve all had a few surprises today, but that’s Starfleet for you. One minute you’re in routine operations, and the next you’re on the edge of the unknown.”

The hum of the Atlantis’ systems filled the quiet between them, but tension lingered in the background as the crew kept their focus on both the delicate situation and their ongoing mission. The prospect of gaining advanced technology and forming an alliance with the Narvhalarians weighed heavily on everyone’s mind.

On the screen ahead, the alien ship’s bioluminescence flickered softly, a visual reminder of the delicate balance between discovery and caution that the Atlantis crew had to maintain.

=^= Bridge, this is Jen. The Narvhalarians are returning to their world to prepare a data package with the information we need to overcome this area of space, and further assist in repairs. One of their conditions for their assistance is to, in their words, get rid of the Romulans. They have been badgering them apparently. Do we have eyes on their ship and condition? I need a tactical analysis on what we can do and what they can do. =^=

OOC: I’m going to try and jump in here and start repairing if possible.

Kaden looked over and Commander Jen and said, “How would you like to start the repairs? I’m guessing we will want to just start at the top of the list based on what is in the package?” He was eager to get things working again and be able to be less prone to whatever might be out there with things just not working right, especially the warp core. He knew he could follow instructions, as long as they did not require a full ship over-hall but he guessed it would not be that way. He wanted to review the changes and be able to send them down to engineering to have them perform some of the tasks down there while he was working up here. He waited for a response from the commander.

“Let’s start by getting our side ready for them. Can you see what you can cobble together with the ship replicators to generate an early era subspace transmitter. Hard code it to transmit out on a current standard Federation frequency. Ensure that the tech in that is not going to raise any prime directive antennae, er, eyebrows.” Jen considered things. “You can delegate that or do it yourself. Otherwise we need primary systems up enough to confront and chase the Romulans out of here.”
