It had been a hard few days on the Atlantis. The fear, the horror, the desperation and the hurt still felt by the civilian population and by may of the star fleet officer and marines, thought they where far better at hiding it then the civilians. Zhira had been thinking of way to try and lift spirits even briefly. She knew many where hurting and she knew something had to be done.

So she had decided to host a concert., a chance to let people relax and unwind and hopefully get them to think of anything else but what had happened. It had been a task but everything was going well, that was until her piano player, who was supposed to do a whole piano solo segment had fallen ill. Zhira had hunted high and low for anyone who was even close to skill as her previous player. But she had found no one, that was until she heard a rumour about one member of the crew.

Thinking on it know as she watched the crew member preform, she had to chuckle. It had been hard and cost her a lot but after watching how the players fingers danced over the keys and how they had managed to get tunes out of the piano she had never heard. She knew it was worth every bit.

River couldn’t believe she was doing this, playing in front of a large crowd. When she had been approached she laughed it off and told Zhira where to go, but eventually she had been convinced she still didn’t know how she had bene convinced, but here she was. It had been so very long since she had done anything like this, she was a different person then. But now as she finished her song she couldn’t help but feel good, it felt right. She felt the tinniest of connection to the person she once was. As she finished The phantom of the opera, she couldn’t help but glance at the picture of Lilly and Abi she had placed on the Piano. And for the first time she wasn’t sad she was happy, she smiled at the picture.

As the applause died down River stood an bowed her long hair usually kept in a bun cascaded down her face and formed a fine frame for her face. “Thank you. My next song is one that is very close to my heart. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. This is Hello young lovers, from the ancient musical the king and I” She said simply as she sat back down and began playing.
