“Oh, I’m pretty sure there is a Security detail watching us as we speak. Between your sister and my mother, I’m sure half of Star Fleet is trying to make sure we don’t scamper off… so yeah, messages galore.” It was at that moment a slider pulled up and three Fleet Securoty officer got out. One, a Lieutenant, walked up to them and said “Lieutenant Commander Mardusk. Lieutenant O’Farrell. Commander O’Farrell has issued orders that you return to your hotel right away. And she said-” and he cleared his throat, obviously embarrassed. “She said that don’t you dare think you can duck and ignore me, Sister. Now get back here and get ready to try on dresses.” Mardusk chuckled and looked down at Cara with a smile. He took her arm and wrapped around his own and then looked at the Lieutenant. “You onow who I am, Lieutenant?” The Bajoran nodded. “Uh, yes sir. I know who you are.” Mardusk nodded and smiled. “Good. And since you know me, do you think the three of yiu are gonna make me do what I don’t wanna do?” The three officers looked at one another, then the Lieutenant looked at Mardusk. “Honestly, sir? We are just here because she told us to come get you, sir.” Mardusk nodded and said “Okay. So let’s do this. You ho back and tell the Commander that you found us; but when you came around the corner of that building-” and he pointed, “- I had the Lieutenant here up off the ground and pinned up against the wall with her legs wrapped around my waist and we were in no position to talk so you left.” He smiled at he open mouthed Security Team, walked Cara over to the indicated wall, picked her up and pressed her against the building and smiled. “I’d hate to make liars of ‘em.” and he kissed her.Gravel
Cara was as red as her hair from trying not to collapse in fits of laughter. That poor lieutenant looked like he wasn’t sure if he wanted to go back and face Emilia’s laugh, or rather go 3 to 1 with Gravel. She wasn’t sure which would be the lesser of those options, but she was not going back to the hotel to try on dresses when her dress was already picked out. Emilia was just playing practical jokes. Her supressed laughter turned into a michevioius grin as Gravel led her over to the wall. She knew what exactly what was about to happen. A warm thrill went through her when he lifted her; she would never get tired of that feeling. Her legs went around him, her hands bunched in his shirt pulling him closer as she kissed him back.
They were both, well Cara at least, was totally oblivious to the dumb struck and akward stares of the security officers. After a stunned few moments the Lt climbed back into the slider and they pulled away.
Cara
Gravel held the kiss for a long time after the slider was gone, finally pulling back long enough to say “Maybe we skip the organ, and go make some music of our own, hmm? Or do we have to wait till after we’re married?” and he laughed.
Gravel
It was a moment before Cara caught her breath. “We are so far past the waitin’ till we’re married, Malachite.” She leaned her head back against the wall, a sultry grin forming. “I didna know Orions were telepathic. I was just thinkin’ the same thing.” She leaned in and kissed him again. Long, passionate, and lingering before she pulled back slightly. “A taxi will get us there much faster.”
Cara
“Mmmhmmm…” he said as he kissed her again before pulling back and looking around. He spotted a cab about a block away and put his fingers to his lips and a loud, shrill whistle careened off the buildings and the slider powered up and moved towards them. Gravel held the door open for Cara and wedged himself in after her. It took only a few minutes to get back to their hotel, but even in such a short period of time Gravel was breathing heavily and very thankful for the privacy screen between the driver and the passenger seats.
As they walked inside, the receptionist waved at them. “Lt. O’Farrell! Your sister and brother-in-law are waiting for you in your room!” they said across the lobby. Gravel growled. “Really? Now?”
Gravel
Cara let out a ferral sound. She pulled her badge out and tapped it. =/\=O’Farrell ta Koslak.=/\=
=/\=Cara? You on Earth? How ya doing? When did you get back.=/\=
=/\=Couple days ago. Look I’m callin’ in that favor ya owe Mr. My sister and brother in law are teyin’ta ruun my vacation. Think ya can transport them ta my parents place and put a block on all transport access for her for 24 hours?=/\=
There was laughter, =/\=No problem. Your sister has it coming anyway. I would tell you not to do anything I wouldn’t do, but then what would be the point of getting rid of Emilia for a day.” There was a pause, “Alright, done. She’s spending quality time with your parents. Have fun!=/\=
Cara tapped her badge to close the connection. She grabbed his hand and managed to drag him in the correct direction of the lifts.
Cara
Gravel laughed. “How about that? You get all wound up and your internal compass calibrates itself. Who knew? Now when you get lost, I guess I’ll just have to send you dirty comms until you find your way back.” and he laughed again before lifting her off the ground and carrying her directly to their room.
------------------------------------- Several Hours Later ----------------------------------------------------------
Gravel lay on the blanket on the floor in the living room area and breathed heavily. “I- … I’m not sure… quite… how such… cardio capability… can be… inside such a… small person.” he said with a broad smile on his face.
Gravel
Whatever retort was about to come out of her mouth was waved away as Cara breathed heavily, but the grin on her face said enough - for the moment the only sounds was the air moving in and out of her lungs as her heart tried to slow. That thought made her laugh. With him around her heart was never going to slow down. She rolled over so she was draped across him. “I told … ya… it’s the… red hair.”
Cara
“Red hair… doesn’t make one… able to keep up… that level of… gyration… for that long… Holy crap…” he said and wrapped his arms around her. He then chuckled and waited a minute to catch his breath. “I thought it was the Orions who had the reputation? I feel like I’m letting my species down or something.” and he laughed.
Gravel
Cara let out a content sigh as he held her. She ler out one laugh. “The hair is… a warning… sign. I even… wore a shirt our first date.” She laid there, her breath slowing. She glanced up at him suspicious. “Ya could go much longer than this. The only person ya should worry about letting down is me. Yer not. So why are ya butterin’ me up?”
Cara
Gravel laughed and then said “Buttering you up?” and looked at her in confusion. “I mean, of all the food stuff I’d want to rub all over ya, butter isn’t really on the list.”
Gravel
Cara snorted. “It’s a colloquialism. It means givin’ compliments in order ta get the other person ta do somethin’ for ya.” She slid out of his arms and sauntered into the small kitchen area. A couple minutes later she returned and set a pitcher of ice water on the coffee table near him and then sank back onto the blanket. “We could use the hydration.” She downed her own glass in one go. “The food idea has possibilities though. Just no more chocolate Guinness cake,” and she laughed.
Cara
Gravel lifted the pitcher and drained half of it, then laid back. “No, definitely no more cake. Ugh.” he said, as his stomach recoiled at the thought of the delicious but absolutely too rich cake. “And I’m not trying to get ya to do anything. I was just complimenting you on yiur ability to do all kinds of things.” and he laughed.
Cara ran her hands down his chest before draping herself back in her place. “Well, I can no take all the credit. Like dancin’, it’s all about how ya sync with yer partner. Yer my perfect partner, but thank you for the compliment. Good ta know yer satisfied.” Then she kissed him in such a way to make it clear she wasn’t going anywhere for awhile.
At that moment, an alarm sounded from the console. Gravel groaned and said “Dammit. Our flights gonna leave in three hours. We gotta pack, doll.”
Gravel
“No.” She kissed him again, letting herself go dead weight against him. Not that that would stop him from moving her or getting up. “We can kiss use a transporter, kiss get more kiss time here and kiss still be on time.”
“Besides, this room is ours for the duration of our visit. No much to pack.”
Cara
Gravel chuckled and said “You really don’t have any concept of navigation, do you?” and he rolled on his side and slid her gently onto the floor. “If we use a transporter, we have to leave here, go to the closest Fleet facility- in this case the Academy- transport form there up to Station one… where my mother works, get cleared for the transport to Ireland, which i am sure between your sister and my mother will somehow get us sent to Norway or somewhere, and then we will have to repeat the whole process in reverse just to get to your parent’s place. Or- and I’m just spitballin’ here- we pack up, go grab a private shuttle, and get to Ireland in like two hours. But hey… you’re the one the who wants to set us up, Im okay with it. Just no complaining when your sister plays a joke on you.”
Gravel
“Oh…my sister is already got sonethin’ planned. I had her beamed out and denied access. It’s been 8 hours and no comms from her. Silence is no a good thing with Emilia.” Cara wound her arms around him and sighed. She really, really did not want to get up. “Besides you and my sister forgot about public access transporters. We donna have ta use Fleet facilities. But if we must get up, we must. A private shuttle isnna a bad idea anyway.” She wasn’t letting him up though until she had thoroughly indulged in kissing him.
Cara rose from the blanket and made her way into the bedroom. She started packing and pulling out clothes before heading for a shower. She muttered a curse. “Oh this wonna be good. Emilia took some of our clothes with her. I apologize now.”
Cara
Gravel laughed and hollered “I wouldn’t have expected any less.” into the bedroom. He stretched his entire frame and exhaled a deep breath before getting up and getting dressed. Cara was right, of course. He was missing a pair of slacks, a business casual button down shirt, and a pair of underwear. Whatever Emilia was planning, at least she was thorough.
Gravel pulled out a travel outfit and packed everything else, got dressed, and called (via a non-hotel comm station) a shuttle service to arrange for them to be picked up on the shuttle pad on the roof of the office building across the street, and then called down to the front desk to request a taxi to take them to the Academy in an hour and a half. “That oughtta keep them off track enough.” he said with a grin.
Gravel
Cara stepped put of the bathroom, towel drying her hair. “Oh that grin means trouble. What have ya done now?” Her eyes danced as she tossed the towel, ran a brush through her hair, and then tossed the brush in her bag. Whatever it was would be fun. She wouldn’t give up trouble with Gravel for anything. She stepped into her shoes and picked up her bag. “Ready? Before someone else shows up?”
Cara
“Come on. Let’s get outta here before your sister or my mother has us arrested just to keep tabs on us.” Gravel said with a grin. He grabbed her bags and then led her to the stairs instead of the lift. “Follow me. Stay close.” he said with a smile. He led her down the stairs and even past the lobby level of the hotel before they exited through a staff entrance and onto a loading dock. “Thank your brother-in-law when we see him. He’s letting us skedaddle out the back.” He took her hand and they trotted out of the hotel dock and across the street to a large office building. He walked inside flashed an ID at the guard at the desk. “Star Fleet Security. I need access to your roof right away.” The guard looked at the ID and said “Um… ok, Commander. Follow me.” The guard led them to a lift and he tapped a badge to the scanner on the wall. “This’ll take you straight up, sir.” Gravel nodded at him as the doors slid closed. He looked down at Cara and smiled. “Cloak and dagger escapes, secret rendezvous on rooftops… wedding of my dreams right here.” and he laughed.
Soon the lift doors opened onto a small room with a flight of six steps leading up to a door. Gravel walked them up and the door slid open. Before was the rooftop of the building… and a sleek private shuttle with a Tellerite sitting at he controls. The porcine face twisted into something like a smile and Gravel chuckled. “Mardusk! I’d recognize that mass anywhere!” Mardusk helped Cara inside and to a seat and he said “Gull’dk. Good to see ya. Since when are you a private pilot?” “Since I retired! Needed something to do to fill the hours.” Mradusk looked at Cara and said “Cara, Gull’dk. He was my first Security Chief out of the Academy. G, this is my fiance, Cara O’Farrell.” He sat down and the shuttle began to rise.
“Nice ta meet ya. Hope this idiot knows better than to ruin your poor judgement by showing his true self. Thats the only way I can see a beauty like you falling for a waste of brains like this one.” Gulll’dk said with a laugh.
