The lights suddenly went to 200% blinding the other two as he trained his phaser where the unknown woman was standing. After a few seconds the lights went back to normal and he opened his right eye, the one adjusted to bright light “Good afternoon” He spoke in a light tone “Hasperate is never hot enough for me” His smile was hidden by the scarf but the wrinkling around his eye and amused tone was fairly clear.

“I can’t see. He blinded me,” Primrose called out stumbling forward and falling over a chair. The howl of pain and the crawling on his hands and knees around the floor might have been comical if the situation was not as dire.
Giving Peter a frown, Aimee pulled out a phaser and shot Primrose letting the man’s bulk flop to the ground. “Then try Klingon’s dish best served cold,” Aimee replied blinking trying to focus past the spot and ache in her eyes. Her aim was precise even though Peter could tell she was still suffering the effects of flash. “Any reason you could not give a girl a warning,” she replied accepting the phrase for the cell and setting the phaser down in her lap as she rubbed her eyes. Lifting her hand she raised her middle finger and waved it as her other hand reached for the knife lodged in the flesh of her upper arm. “Oh and Bix, I know you can’t see this but you are a,” a loud grunt replaced the word she wanted to say as she pulled the weapon from her arm. Wherever Bix was right now, Aimee was more concerned about her injury and the new addition of the member to the cell than Primrose.
It was only through experience that Peter managed to suppress a surprised blink at the acceptance of the codeword, he had meant it for a joke but as he’d been told by subordinates before he couldn’t really tell a joke to save his life. Of course improvisation was one of his strong suits so he did just that “Several Ma’am” He said calmly and with a hint of feigned respect.
“Little help please,” she rubbed her eyes and moved her arm to the center of her body. It was clear she was looking for Peter to help her with her arm. “I just want to know how the hell you hit me and missed the blubbering whale standing and scream. I mean are you Aenar?” The joke was flat but pointed about Peter’s aim.
Aimee Rian
“If I was Aenar I would not have missed, Ma’am, I apologize, you stood up quicker than anticipated” He lied smoothly, well it wasn’t a complete lie, he had been aiming for her shoulder, not her arm. “This operation has been compromised, I don’t know by whom or how but I was assigned to extract you and only you.” He spoke in the manner of a bored soldier, he’d spent enough time around Marines to know how they acted.
“Ya think,” Aimee snapped angrily. “This operation has been,” she began to utter a string of curses that might have made Peter even blush but were covered by the red alert Klaxon’s that had begun to blare as the Altantis was fired upon by the Alien vessels. Looking around, a scowl formed over her lips. “I said this was a bad operation.”
“I need to put you in a secure location then locate and disable any other operatives such as them” He nodded to the unconscious Aenar and Primrose.
Her brow furrowed as she looked at the unconscious forms belonging to Bix and Primrose. Primrose was always going to be the sacrificial lamb in this operation. The man was an idiot and a pompous, bloated waste of space but Bix was a new twist. “Why,” she asked him suspiciously. It was not so much that she doubted Peter directly. Aimee doubted everyone all the time which had kept her alive this long in the intelligence field.
“There is a burn notice on all Cell members excluding the OIC” He ripped a piece of his scarf and started bandaging the stranger’s arm. He used terminologies such as burn notice and Officer in Charge to help sell the flimsy story “Who else was involved in OpSec?” he asked
CIO
“So they are burning Bix?” Her question was rhetorical more than information-seeking as her mind began to run all the angles. The thought had crossed her mind that Bix would get caught in the crossfire impersonating the XO. It was dangerous presenting Bix to the kid as the XO and a miracle Jessa had not called their bluff yet. “Dammit,” she muttered moving her arm as Peter finished bandaging her arm up.
Dropping her interest in Bix for now, Aimee focused on Peter’s question about the cells and who was in them. Moving to her console, Aimee looked at Peter. “You gonna reinstate power so we can figure out why the hell we are at red alert?”
Peter simply nodded and moved to a nearby power conduit access panel and got to work. Although there wasn’t actually anything to work on, he went through the motions, using the reflective surface of one of his blades to keep an eye on his new “ally”
As she waited for Peter to restore power, Aimee relaxed back in her chair as her brow furrowed slightly. “Is Celia there?” Her question hung in the air.
“The secure location or did she get burned?” Aimee knew all the players on the ship. She was the only one besides Bix and no one mentioned Peter’s arrival to her. His reputation preceded him and needed no introduction but it did seem odd that he was the one person Aimee had not known was joining the operation. It was highly odd but everything about this operation was odd. Closed cells were the norm but except for the two officers on the bridge in communications and navigation, none of the other operatives knew the names of the other operatives in engineering, transporters, science, medical, and security. Peter had walked into medical taking out Celia as if he had always been a part of the plan so who else did he know on the ship and if he knew them why was he testing her? Aimee moved her hand casually to her side and waited to see his response.
Aimee Rian
Peter didn’t hesitate, he’d expected the question. Although hadn’t had much time to work on his Legend in the few minutes since he apparently went undercover, but years of working in the fringes of civilized space running a legitimate private starship did wonders on learning to lie quickly and well “A secure location, don’t know why but my orders were to insulate the first operative to violate OpSec. The contingency for that is the extraction of the Primary asset” He turned around and pointed at Rian “For the duration of the Trip until exfil is possible and burn notices for any non-vital personel.” He put on a grim smile “Even if the Atlantis crew pull a Sloane on Bix” he said referencing the near death of Section 31 at the hands of the DS9 crew nearly twenty years prior during a rather inventive interrogation. “He can’t compromise anything vital, you can”
CIO
Aimee took a long hard look at Peter. It made sense to have someone with his knowledge and background on the mission but it also stood to reason with his knowledge and background that he would be in charge. Aimee, up until now, had thought she was in charge. She was the only one that knew who was whom on the ship but Peter seemed to either be testing her or questioning her. “Okay what the hell,” she started but instead of confronting Peter, Aimee looked at the screen. “Now they want to use weapons.”
Glancing at the screen she let her eyes dance over each of the four feeds. Staring at the screen of the two aliens fighting in the promenade, her brow furrowed. “Why are there six of them now?” The situation on the promenade was getting chaotic to control. The only combat seemed to be the security chief killing the one alien and Styxx about to submit to another ” Pointing to the area of the promenade she cirlced the individuals. “That is the female. That is the child, who are they,” she pointed to Ian and Rinker now enclosed in the alien armor. “Do you have the shuttle ready for the alien’s extraction,” Aimee asked Peter.
Aimee Rian
Peter glanced at the screen but didn’t show any outward interest, he had to trust the ships Security teams to handle things without him, and containing the unexpected threat of Section 31 was his priority “I will commandeer a shuttle once the rest of your operation has been secured” He did quirk an eyebrow at the two armored officers, he had as much or perhaps less information on the status of the ship’s defense as she did. “The child is not a priority, if possible we will extract one of the Elders.”
“Maybe,” she replied in a murmured tone as she watched the screens monitoring the situation. “Never work with kids or animals but we were at least able to convince the kid she was on the wrong team. She played ball enough with us to work as the catalyst for this operation. We had our doubts about her showing us their tech when we gave it to her after the brig retrieval of her comrades. I mean it was impressive,” Aimee admitted begrudgingly, “how she got the other three out without hurting any of the security officers, “but we are not interested in their passive power. Under the influence of the other three aliens,” Aimee pointed to the screen and brought up the playback from the attack on Marine Country from earlier. “It shows us a better pic of what their tech is like.” Aimee showed how they used the shields to stop everything the Federation Marines threw at them and then restrained the Marines against the walls like flys in a spider web. “We pulled them from there and separated them into four quadrants on the promenade.”
He crossed his arms. Now the big gamble was in play “What other assets do you have in play?”
CIO
“Standard twelve-man insert team. One in each of the security forces in each of the promenade’s sections. We have two on the bridge, two in engineering, one each in medical, transporters, and operations. Upon extraction, the security officer will meet up with the two-man teams and the third will wrangle up the stragglers or get them out of the brig.” The last word held a slightly bitter tone since they both knew Peter had placed Celia now in an undisclosed location adding an extra element to the extraction.
“What the,” Aimee broke out into a series of Klingon curses. “Mardusk just killed one of them. Dammit, ” she seethed watching the man being tossed out of an airlock as her eyes drifted to the screen with Styxx as the Marine drove the sword into a second Elder. “We need them alive. We need to extract them now,” she stood up grabbing a phaser. “We only have two left. I will isolate the one and you the other to ensure we have one of them to take to the rendevous location. Do you have a preference?”
Looking over her shoulder, she let out a sigh. “The kid thinks Bix is the XO. It won’t be quite a Sloane situation but close unless you want to take out the XO to buy Bix some cover time?”
Aimee Rian
Peter frowned at the screen, he was actually quite pleased and impressed with the Orion. He almost entertained the thought of actually joining the Section 31 team just to see if he could win a fight with the Security chief. He quickly discarded the idea but it did bring a grim smile to his face “I don’t like the idea of splitting our forces thin, you’ll need to recall all you can, even with a dozen operatives we don’t have guaranteed mission success but it’ll be easier than two teams of six.” He crossed his arms together as he considered “The one fighting Styxx won’t last long, we won’t have time to organize an exfil. We should hedge our bets, gather your crew and take the Child and the Elder with her. Besides, that side of the Promenade will be easier to deal with than a group of pissed-off marines. Have them discretely gather on Deck 14, I’ll have to arm them before we get to work. We can barely afford to but we need additional firepower especially if we intend to fight our way of the ship. I can interfere with ship’s systems but only for a short time, the time it’ll take us to escape with those that survive.”
CIO
“I can do one better than that without fighting. This is not my first rodeo handsome,” Aimee replied. Tapping her comm badge she paced slightly. =/\=Extract the package=/\=. Her command was simple but not sent to anyone on the ship. Just under the port side of the Atlantis a cloaked intelligence ship locked a beam on the only remaining living Elder on the promenade and beamed her off. The bursts of torpedos from the Altantis’ main batteries allowed for enough of a distraction to mask the beam for now. They were hugging the hull so closely, the intell ship was able to beam off the Elder even with the shields raised. Hiding in the sensor blind spot, the ship only had to wait long enough for the Atlantis to drop the shields before they could slip into the void of space. =/\=Teams evacuate to Deck 14=/\= she spoke into the comms before looking at Peter. “We don’t need the kid. We got the female. The child will provide enough of a diversion to have the ship chasing its tail. Shall we,” she gestured to the door. Deck 14 was not the exfil plan but neither was Peter. Silently she grumbled under her breath at being left out of the loop involving the senior intel officer. Her complaints would be far more vocal later but right now he had an escape plan and Aimee was finished with her mission.
Aimee Rian
Peter gave no reaction to the sudden appearance of a cloaked ship, it was certainly a shock but also a relief, it gave more merit to his accidental undercover operation “Good Work” He said, giving her a respectful nod, it had been a good move, although it likely would go wrong, short term gain for long term loss. But of course in the long term there wouldn’t be much of a plan for the S31 people. He took out his phaser and shot the unconscious Aenar once.
Aimee watch Peter and a small smile curled her lips. “Does he own your money or something?”
“Can’t have him wander off, I’ll take him Primrose and whoever remains once we’ve secure exfil and I’ve confirmed the package” He gave the implication that he wasn’t assuming command but that he could if he wanted, he got a sense that Rian felt that he could do so. He didn’t for two reasons, he didn’t have enough information to make that bluff and also he might get pushback. Sometimes it was good to have a reputation for substandard actions within the intelligence community, it gave him leeway to do things like this.
He led the way, making sure to keep a close eye on Rian so he didn’t get blindsided as they made their way to deck 14. “Once we get the whole group together we need to get you off the ship ASAP”
CIO
“Agreed” she said keeping pace and following Peter through the halls until she stopped and began swearing loudly before slamming her fist into the bulkhead next to her. Tapping her ear she sent out a coded message. =/\= All personel report to the tertiary location. We have been compromised. =/\=
Looking at Peter, Aimee’s frown deepened. “The mission is blown. I told them not to use the kid. She just called out the XO. The prosthetics are good for a dark room and no idea of Jen’s bearing or voice. If they put Jessa with the XO we are screwed except for the kid is mentally unstable and can’t be trusted. I have to go back for Bix.”
Aimee Rían.
“No time and no need, I can secure his escape at a later date, provided that he follows standard procedure and shuts up, we have our prize and we don’t need to hide our presence anymore,” He said half turning to the woman, if necessary he’d take her out here then proceed to remove the rest but he was still hoping to get on that cloaked craft they had outside the ship.
