Mardusk looked at Rinker and said “I got your back.” with a wink.

“Who exactly is she marrying?” Nash said from his station, looking at the staff on the Bridge. “If she’s coming here for it..” he let the words trail off for a moment before shrugging. “I hope whoever it is has a best man planned, or protection. I wonder if they are doing it here to avoid an unhappy suitor?”

Lt Cmdr Nash, CTO

“Mardusk did you bring a shotgun wedding to my ship,” Kelly said raising an eyebrow at her COS. “Nash you’re fired for putting that idea in my head,” she shot a playful comment at her CTO. Until now Kelly had not thought about an unhappy suitor. Given the reputation of Klingon weddings, Kelly did not want to think about what would happen in a crashed Klingon wedding.

Reaching up Kelly tapped her comm badge. “Styxx, come to my ready room,” she said letting out a sigh. The thought of needing a platoon of Marines on top of the regular security at the wedding was starting to give her a headache. “The rest of you know what to do. Get dressed and meet me in the hangar in four hours. Let get this wedding off with as smooth a start as possible.”

Mardusk sighed heavily. “Oh, boy. Here we go.” he said to no one in particular. He then looked at Nash. “I don’t think it’s going to be a unhappy event, Commander. I know the Admiral has been bragging about his daughter getting married for some time. Don’t know much about the groom, though… so I guess we will see when they get here.”

A thought occurred to Mardusk just then. “Captain. I would recommend the Diplomatic Hall for the ceremony. It has enough space to accommodate everyone, and it is removed from most sensitive areas.”

“He has a point,” Relann said before leaning in towards Kelly. “Don’t forget that big happy smile, and make sure you mean it,” she said teasingly.

Moving to the turbolift, Relann shook her head. “I’ll be down there asap to make sure arrangements are coming along.” Sosaya, drop anything not urgent and go find your dress uniform. We’re getting drunk with Klingons tonight. He’d be able to hear her amused laughter through their link.
