He considered her and nodded. “Sure.” He said and frowning looked at his feet a second then up at her again still frowning. “While I remember, I was thinking…maybe next week we should do something with sparky and you and me…and the kid I guess…dinner maybe?”

He had considered how to say ‘it’s my sons birthday next week. I don’t know if I want to be alone will you guys keep me company’ for a few days now and the best he could come up with, that he said was. “It’s my annual social contact with more than one person night.”

Her violet eyes gazed at him in that same gaze he used and that she had gotten used to appearing from time to time. It was, of course, a result of all the Links they’d had over the years and it seemed it wasn’t something that really faded. That she knew of so far.

He looked away unable to meet her gaze.

The Dy’allan nodded. “Sounds like a plan. Your place, ours or the holodeck?”

With a shrug Ryley began tidying up. “Whatever is easiest. I’ve got a nice programme for Aquillias six, good sea food…” he paused and frowned, “ironic considering they are seamonkey sort of creatures..huh.”

Her expression shifted into something almost reverent, and yet it was clear she was excited. “Yes!” Definitely that. After all, with them I wouldn’t have beautiful skin grafts, now would I?” she said with a slight smirk. It would be a nice touch to visit, even virtually, a place that was a massive step on the path to reclaiming her identity as a Dy’allan.

Ryley nodded. “ Well there was my genius into that equation too you know.” He raised a hand and looked around as if worried someone would overhear “ Between us both I wasn’t sure it would work.” He said not sounding serious.

“Fair rough but you might wanna warn anyone you want to bring that it’s under water and whatnot. First time a Ha’wle swam over the domes I almost had a coronary.”
