Hello Atlanteans!

Okay, so I am over the moon excited to have three new crew members joining the Atlantean team. In no particular order, I will begin with the introductions.

David Shaw - Okay all I can say is Dave you are fabulous. He is a recent academy graduate and there was no way we could contain his creativity to just the academy. That is why we did the only thing one can do. Graduate them and set them loose in main fleet. I am so lucky he is joining us as Albert the new CSO. Dustin Smith- Dustin is returning and I am thrilled to have him on the ship. You might remember him from the Manny. His writing is incredible and he is a blast to write with. I was lucky enough to snag him as a civilian supply officer or maybe he just knew I was not going to let go of his leg until he said yes. Matt Bongiorno - Matt is returning to the ship as a swing character that specializes in Molecular genetics and medicine. He will be writing with the CSO, CMO, and the COO. Matt is an amazing writer and I am over the moon excited to have him back on the ship.

I also wanted to take a second and put in a post what I had sent out in an email. With all the new crew, and because I was not sure I had everyone’s correct email, I cut and pasted the info from the email below. I know half of you have already seen this and participated in the survey. Thank you for your feedback. To those that didn’t get the email please read the post below and let me know if you have questions.

Check in about how everyone is doing
Gene and I also wanted to reach out to the entire crew on a more personal level about how everyone is doing. Some of you have reached out at various times and shared that life can be stressful right now. I want everyone to know that Gene and I are here to make sure that the Atlantis remains a fun and relaxing place to write. If anyone has real life impacting them please reach out. He or I will do whatever we can to help.

Solutions if anyone is feeling burned out or stressed
If you are okay and not feeling any stress or pressure to post I am grateful for that. I have never been one to worry about a few AWOLS/LOA’s. You are a great crew and an amazing group of writers. The discussion on command however has gotten Gene and I thinking about ways he and I can help on the ship. The first question I guess then is “Is anyone feeling stressed and pressured to post”.

I have created an anonymous survey with 6 questions if you do not want your replies to be public. If you don’t care you are free to reply via email to Gene or me, or more preferably both of us, or to this thread if you are comfortable with that. If you are not that is perfectly fine also. It is why I made the survey anonymous.

I would love for everyone to reply by next Friday 5/6/2022. Based on the replies, which will be in a percent format, I will discuss and share the results with the crew. From there we can have another discussion if warranted.

Gene and I’s only goal with this lengthy message and survey is to make sure the Atlantis is a place you can grow as a writer and enjoy as a person.
